The reason I subscribed is because of you Cheryl. Your voice is just so genuine and kind. You come across as the kindest and gentlest soul. I love seeing what you make for tea. Your dishes and recipes are just lovely simple home cooking and anyone can make with ease. I have complete trust in what you say.

I come back to your channel time and again because it feels so cozy. I love seeing what different families around the world eat on the daily basis. Food is a very powerful and tangible connection. It transcends time and distance. It can take home, it can take you on holiday, it can take you to a completely different time. And your sweet voice and gentle ways make my heart very happy. I love trying your recipes because they are simple yet delicious and very comforting. I live in the Northeast of the US and I love your soup and pie recipes in the winter. They’re all very warm and welcoming. It’s like getting a hug from a dear friend.

The voice certainly is part of it. But for me it is also the spontaneity of finding out "what's for tea." Everything you cook looks so comforting, and because I live by myself, comfort food is never spontaneous for me. I do not eat food like you make unless I make it. Your videos remind me of coming home on a cold night when I was a child and learning what was for dinner. I forgot how much I missed that until I found your videos.

I looked up how to make Cottage Pie and happened to pick your video to watch. I tried a few of your recipes and they turned out perfect. Just right for regular everyday suppers (Tea). I have a few friends in the USA who were born in Glasgow and your accent is just like theirs. Yes, your voice is soothing and just pleasant to listen to. I feel like I have a new Scottish friend. I visited Scotland a few years ago and fell in love with your country. Hopefully after this pandemic I will be able to visit again.

I got here by reading a romance novel! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 SERIOUSLY! Maybe I better explain. I'm old 👵 grew up in a tiny isolated mountain camp ( think village) in the 1960s we had a small library and they had a lot of mystery novels from the UK so UK authors became my favorite authors. I rarely read romances but it was during Thanksgiving 2019 my sister left a romance paperback when she came for a visit for a few days. I ran out of things to read then remembered, the book in the guest bedroom night table! As it was set in Scotland I thought I might enjoy it. A studly man in a kilt and a mention of a dish called stovies and oatcakes. And I found this channel when I went in search for a traditional Scottish dish called stovies and oatcakes! 🤣 I stayed because my heritage is southern appalachian and we have a stong connection to the Scots in this area and you sound like home. There is certain words you pronounce that just sound like home and family to me. ❤️

I too love and prefer the British mystery novels mostly sparked by watching so much of PBS. P.D. James, Colin Dexter, and Ruth Rendell are a few of my faves. How about you? Always loved reading and a wonderful memory I have with my Grandmother is reading my Nancy Drew book while she read some murder mystery herself. Is taste hereditary? Funny thought. @@eileenmc8808 In my neck of the woods Saturdays was British day. Our PBS broadcast came out of Roanoke. Saturday nights were British comedies, but at 4 in the afternoon it was Mystery theater! I worked in a garment factory between 1979 to 93 and every Saturday morning I worked like a madwoman so all my housework would be done by 4 o'clock so I could relax and watch Mystery. I can still hear (on my mind)the sound of the tied lady with the scarf! Best intro of any show, ever. My husband still refers to me as "she who must be obeyed" LOL

I cane originally because I used to love to cook and feed people. Usually simple, not fancy food, but high quality and organic when I could get it. I went to a dairy farm during their evening milking and loved the way they cared for their cows, and drew milk from the bulk tank. After sitting all night, I skimmed off the heavy cream and made my own butter, which is easy to freeze. At Christmas, I used it with fresh eggs from another farm, and made spectacular cookies and pies…acclaimed! I fed friends with no family for holidays and we had rollicking good times. I liked your recipes and love Scotland, so much like Minnesota where I live. I liked you right off, so kept up and am so glad!

Its quite inspiring watching someone else cook. New ideas for the menu, new ways of doing things, new ways to combine things all within the range of what we eat here I suppose. The most important reason for choosing to stay with you on this channel is that your recipes actually come out the way they do when you cook them, because they are authentic - not always the case with other channels. Also because you sound like a nice humble girl, you never big headed over what you do, even though you do it so well. Thankyou for all the lovely vids.

You come across as warm and welcoming, you don't push your channel or any monetization of it, and you present meal ideas & recipes that are genuinely accessible for people that aren't (or perhaps aren't interested in becoming) super chefs. You are a breath of fresh air from the old style Martha Stewart, Gwenyth Paltrow pretentiousness, and a comfortable channel to watch and gradually begin to feel akin with. I come from UK (not Scottish sadly) background and can relate to many of the foods and even brand names of your meals and shopping hauls... which is also fun and a bit nostalgic. Keep up the good work.

Why? I've used your recipes & love them. You've also given me ideas to do something my own way.

I subscribed a couple of years ago. I am from the 🇺🇸 and I love seeing the differences between our groceries. I enjoy your meals of the week and the weekly recipes; as they give me inspiration for our meals I like that you put videos of Scotland at the end of your videos. Scotland is on our bucket list. Hoping to come there in 2023, if the world opens up. 🤞Of course, your accent is soothing and just makes the videos that much more fun. 😊

Being an expat I love watching your program. Gives me great memories of home. I look forward to meals of the week especially the traditional recipes which remind me of the meals my mum cooked when I was home many years ago! You have inspired me to cook, scots roles, the empire biscuits, bread pudding and fly cemetery which were all delicious !!! The Next attempt is mutton pie but don't want to mess with the heritage too much!! Thanks for making my day, you do a great job:)

Started watching because I wanted to see what you Scottish folk ate. Grampas family came from there so was curious to see how close certain food was to what we had growing up. Cool to see the different food brands and even packaging. 😘

I subscribed as you are fairly local to me , I'm from Renfrewshire and it was nice to hear a warm scottish accent on here and to support it. But I loved the meal ideas and recipes of food I was raised on and also quick and easy meal ideas for when you can't be bothered cooking from scratch.. also love seeing your travels 💕

Oh Cheryl you got me. Just back from the store to get cheese and the first milk I have bought in 4 years. Smoked jowls and penne bake tonight. LOL By the way I keep coming back because I like to tease you every now and then. And someone has to stick up for the mushrooms!

I subscribed because of the recipes. You make the same food my granny would make when I was younger and I’m trying to make more recipes to introduce to my family. My grandparents were from Scotland and just hearing your accent brings me back and brings me such joy. I also love the scenery too!

Why did I subscribe? You make dinners my mum used to make for us kids, growing up in New Zealand. And you have a calming voice that I enjoy listening to. Thanks for the effort you put in to these vids.

Although I’m in Fife, I grew up in Ayrshire and went to Arran on holiday. I love watching your cooking videos and share them with my son Stuart in California. He misses the Scottish food he grew up with but is a good cook and has tried a few of your recipes. He especially likes the morning rolls, pies and mince round. He couldn’t get home for the last 2 summers, so your recipes have given him a little taste of home. Thank you.

I love the recipes you make nice meals that everybody understands and I no are doable for me. I like that not every meal is way over the top with tons of ingredients I do not and probably will never have in my cupboard. I love the scenery as well as your friends from abroad I happen to live on the other side of Scotland in Perthshire, Aye Scotland is hard to beat we have amazing scenery. Keep up the good work.
