Devin, you don’t know the gift you’ve given this little girl by not just watching the movie with her (showing her that her interests matter) but talking through the problematic behavior eg backstabbing, self-sabotage, disordered eating (to show her you understand and she can talk through things like this with you). This is one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies, and it's not even that guilty because it's actually fairly well-made :D (the initial 7/10 before the bullying was a reasonable score ;) ) I still use "Regina George" as shorthand for throwing someone under a bus :) Also, I never knew I needed to see Devin trying to understand high school politics, but that was great XD

Regina probably saw Cady as a threat and didn't want her to become more popular than her. She got back with Aaron only because Cady was interested in him. There's a lot of youtube videos too explaining some of the characters.... like why Gretchen was the only one who didnt have a happy ending, just ended up serving a new queen bee... like why do some girls want to hang out with high status girls who treat them badly & are terrible friends? Also Janice was a mean girl too - using Cady just to get revenge on the plastics who she used to be one of them herself. So I mean still messed up too....
