That's me tho. Was just me and my uncle and we split rent 50/50. He moved his kid in, that's fine he gets a pass. But then he moved his ex wife in, who doesn't pay rent now we got a problem. Nasty woman she has run every single guest I've brought out of here nobody wants to be around her toxicity so nobody comes over anymore, and I'm still paying half the rent instead of a third, she contributes nothing so yeah I don't share a damn thing w/ her. If my uncle wants to take care of his ex, that's coming out of his pocket, not mine

Speaking from experience with my step parents and siblings, in my opinion, when you start dating someone who has kids and you have kids of your own, you need to let the kids meet each other and get to know each other before any marriage or moving in happens(unless ofc that person has nowhere else to go). It gives them some familiarity in the situation. I’ve always gotten along with my step siblings on my mom’s side bc we met years before they moved in. We found common interests and ,as the oldest, they would come to me for anything they felt unsafe or uncomfortable talking to their dad about and still do. Now my stepsister on my dad side, we used to bump heads all the time. We barely knew each other, causing a lot of jealousy and drama. We got along years later but it was something we had to do on our own.(RIP🕊️) Especially kids at that age AND she was used to being an only child AND her mom passed away. Now all of a sudden she has a stepmom who she seemingly barely knows and a stepsister who she seemingly barley knows as well and she’s expected to automatically make that switch to stepchild and stepsister without proper guidance? It was honestly clear that she was never sat down and actually talked to about this before it happened. Then poor Maya not only has to endure her stepsister’s abuse and hatred, but if that situation had went left, she would’ve blamed herself for it. Say whatever you want but, in my opinion, it’s not always solely the child’s fault.🤷🏽‍♂️
