The dad was in a tough situation. He handled it poorly by accusing his wife of lying before he even talked to his daughter. It's not about picking one over the other, you can't make a parent choose in that manner. At least the daughter didn't lie about being mean to her. It's very hard on children when parents divorce. It's not their fault, they are victims in the tragedy.

Emily's mom didn't sound like a good person, she obviously cheated or was rather unkind and that's why Sean divorced her. Because Emily was so young when it happened, she didn't understand that people aren't as great as you think they are. Sean should have told her the truth from the very beginning instead of making Emily feel that her mother was a saint when she wasn't, it would have caused less aggro.

I feel it went to the fact that Emily thought there was no reason why her parents divorced in the first place. Sean should have told her the truth about it from the very beginning that her mother wasn't perfect and had hurt him.

Yeah they do but they also sound more like they all come over regularly and maybe even know about each other. I mean, Emily called them 'uncles' which they're not and says they're really nice to her and give her lots of gifts. Does anyone else think that sounds very suspicious or ring any alarm bells? Im feeling very concerned and terrified for this little girl, I actually feel sick.

As a kid that grew up with a somewhat abusive stepmom I can relate a bit. She was never physically abusive to me but was abusive in other ways saying mean things and shit. I tried to get along many times but just stopped I never really saw her as a mom I wish I could have but with the way I was treated It was near impossible for me She was just my dads gf or later x gf I never realy hate anyone althought I have high dislike for people that dont treat me and family /friends with resect My dads x might be the only person I really dislike maybe thats wrong and tbh I dont really care she was mean to me and a tentent that like in our house that was a freind as well that was actually probably older than her
