I think it's terribly unbalanced. There is a reason atk and Def are 2 different stats. With a move like body press you defence gets double its value, making it possible to spec in 1 stat while boosting both defence and offense

Stealth rock is arguably the best move in pokemon. But when I dabbled in doubles I found the move protect to be really fun. Predicting what you're opponent will attack and protecting or predicting an opposing protect is super fun.

I have recently won a bit too many national dex battles using a Pumpkaboo. Max defense and HP and relaxed nature, it uses trick room to aid the rest of my team and then clicks DESTINY BOND on an incoming physical attacker's move when its HP is low enough. Nearly always kills, it's quite the lovely counter to melmetal and zacian, they don't seem to ever be able to oneshot it. Dracovish dies immediately and also is a good counter to rillaboom and even bulk up corviknight when it thinks it can just sweep and roost brave bird forever. Extremely handy and I love Destiny Bond because of that!

Fav move: Acrobatics. Mainly b/c it pairs up so well w/ Unburden, but also b/c there are so many really cool consumable items in competitive that Acro pairs well w/ too. Second fav is Drain Punch. A punch that can drain energy from its target? That sounds way more magical than any other Fighting move. Draining attacks in general are really up there, especially when we still don't have an equivalent of that one terrain from tpdp that inverts all healing moves yet (basically gave everyone a pseudo-Liquid Ooze effect while it was up, but would also work on self healing moves like Roost and Wish). Also a big factor is how cool the mons that have access to these moves are. Scept gets both of these. So does Lucha, but until that anti-heal terrain, which a Flying-type like Lucha could bypass, I'll still like grounded Scept more.

Favorite move... it's gotta be Focus Punch. Specifically Focus Punch without Substitute. It's the ultimate call-out move. If you use Focus Punch raw, you're saying to your opponent "I know you're not going to attack this turn". It's made even better by it announcing itself at the start of the turn, so your opponent is forced to watch their status move or switch happen knowing they fucked up and that they are a fool. But of course, it wouldn't be nearly as fun if it weren't risky, because if you're wrong and they actually do attack, then it is you who has been made the fool.

I was introduced to competitive battles some time before ORAS and my favorite mon was Kingdra, who had Sniper, Scope lens, Focus Energy (100% crit after FE) and Draco Meteor. If Kingdra was a little bit faster and/or stronger, this set really could be viable, it can just spam Draco's after a Focus Energy stronger than Specs with no drawbacks, since critical hits ignore the SpAtk drops

My favorite move is substitute. The idea that any pokemon just pulls a doll put of their ass and hides behind this tiny plushy and this somehow prevent them from being hit. You can literally be being destroyed by meteors imbued with draconic energy so strong that the mere use of the attack weakens the user or a beam of pure energy so strong that it literally incapacitates its user for a turn but if you throw a tiny toy in front of you you will just stand there and watch it not hit you. And I know the argument can be made with protect but protect is a literal force field made to be impenetrable. Substitute is a literal toy.

Favorite move to use is knock-off because it's such a stupid no drawback move. My favorite moves in concept, though, are pursuit and perish song. Sadly, neither can really be used in this gen because gamefreak got lazy and removed pursuit, and perish song doesn't really have a good abuser. Doesn't help that perish song got nerfed in gen 5 by gamefreak getting rid of mean look passing. It's fun going back to older gens and getting surprise kills by baton passing a mean look into a perish song user.
