I am going to say it and perhaps take crap for it, but I strongly feel that she might be a songwriter in the league of Townes Van Zandt, not a compliment to be taken lightly. Just bumped into Mary here on You-Tube today. Been lovin it all though this isn't my usual type of music pick. Mary, if your readin this ya need to know you've got a lot more more than those girls we usually hear on the radio. They have the voice, some of them have the soul, but they have to dig to relate to the words they are singing. It just doesn't sound right. You?...You sound like you've "Been There". You've lived it. Сложность перевода песни Sweet Jezebel состояла не только в том, что текст песни весьма длинный и без повторов, но и в том, что у песни сложная рифмовка, рифмуются 1-я со 2-й строчкой, 4-я с 5-й и 3-я с 6-й. И все это также нужно было уложить в мелодию. Да, при таком переводе неизбежны были отклонения от оригинала, но общий смысл песни я постарался сохранить. She has the voice of Whitney Houston (or better), the showmanship of Glen Campbell or Roy Clark, better on banjo than Earl Scruggs (Mary's work is more complex), plays 11 instruments, produces her own CDs, and in her spare time gives live performances and writes mystery novels (along with her Mom). Any one of those talents makes her first-rate, but put it all together, and what can you say other than, "Wow!" BTW, she's a really nice person too.

Here the thing, I keep get recommendations to listen to listen to some miley cyrus album when I can listen to this. Nothing against miley but she has yet to put out a tune that compares to this one. My point is look for your independent artist. They play to play. Reward them over the corporate people who look for the almighty dollar.
