It's 6:00 a m on a December day as I watch the video. The season is over for 4 months. I'm reminded that every level of player has to do these basics to their ability. When you hit YOUR wall the tendency is to chase technology or latest guru. We'd all be better served to drilling the basics. Nicely presented 😊

Well, I can attest this program is beneficial. I finished week one a couple days ago and shot 82 mid-week and then 75 on Sunday! This is my lowest round ever. Excellent video. Im a high 70s low 80s golfer already, been a while for the 70s, but ive been in a slump lately and been hooking a lot with my 4 iron and higher. Got that fixed with a couple of trips to the range so i figured id come here for some pointers to try and tweak a little more to get me back to playing my better golf. I already do a lot of these myself, but id always been taught to club up in the rough because it would slow your head speed down going through the rough and kill the distance, but the way you guys explained that and the visual aids for me helped a lot. Im never excited to be in the rough, but i will definitely be keeping this in mind the next time i am. Keep up the awesome videos.

Thank you Piers & Andy, great video as always. Can you explain in more detail why spin matters and how it affects the ball flight? I think most amateurs just consider the effects of spin as purely how it lands on the green... including me! More color around that would make your demonstration from the rough/fairway even more useful! Thanks again, Sean

The tip on how to play out of the rough is brilliant and explains a few things. I always took an extra club or two from the rough thinking I’m not going to get as good a connection as normal and I always wondered why I’d go sailing over the back. I just kept thinking I’d thinned it. I’m trying this at the weekend. Thanks.

Just think of it if you said OK from this yardage I'll use a 60 and from this yarardage I'll use a 58. And from this real tight lie I might use a 56. It would be a ground Breaking moment on KZbin. You would have the 1st golf video in the history of KZbin to say what degree wedge they're hitting from and from what distance around the green. The reason why I say this cause you guys were undisputably the best golf teaching youtube channel.

@Meandmygolf I have a really solid question. I see this a lot in pros and in pierce. Right before my man Pierce hits the shot he always does a little bump squat to the left or to the right to get his body and arms in motion. Which way is he doing the little shimmy move before his shot? Would love a video on this or quick explanation. People don’t understand that this move really helps transition your body and arms in the right motion just before take away

Instead of tape or powder to mark the ball strike I sign my initials on the ball with a Sharpie as most golfers do ... making sure the letters are large enough (1"x1")... and face the letters towards the club face. This ink will transfer to the club face every time off the tee and will last even when dry for some time, and if you are playing lift & clean as many of us are forced to do early in the season, align the ball as you did on the tee with the same result. This works for me as I can easily check the ball position on the club face under playing conditions. The ink easily wipes off with a swipe of a finger. Of course this "playing" method does not work with the driving range "bucket" ... without doubt it's the tape or spray.

So many golfers would majorly benifits from doing the plank on a regular basis to help strengthen their core muscles.... Such a simple thing to do and it has major benefits to the posture in the golf swing and would help them to maintain that neutral spin/pelvis position.
@Sir_Godz5 жыл бұрын
I would say take advantage of short/easy courses as training courses. Great opportunities for extra tee shots with irons or hybrids that you may never get to hit on full courses without "short changing" your driver opportunities. Lots of practice for using those seldom used clubs to set layups for preferred wedges and scoring irons. Doesn't hurt at all that the prices are usually very friendly and the pace is liberal as is the time commitment.

Is there anyway to test my ball turf connection on a driving range. Unfortunately my driving range does not have grass to play off? So you think spraying foot spray on the floor infront would work..
@alancunnane30655 жыл бұрын
Something that works really well is a strip of duct tape just behind where you want to be striking the turf. If you catch the tape it ends up on your clubhead. Less likely to leave a lot of mess behind on the mat too!

Now for any distance between 30yrds and a full PW, I have 4 different shots with different lofts and roll outs to choose from, depending on what's needed. @@duduOmag: I have a vintage Zing and Pal...both in mint condition. My NOS Zing still has a bright square on the sole where the original sticker protected it from patina.
