I really loved DL’s original work it was truly groundbreaking in those days. He backed his original concepts up with deep research into Ben Hogan, & then wrote a book based around this research and a series of videos. His work with Faldo was fantastic in the day. I can’t help feeling the A Swing was more a marketing gimmick, mixed up with experimentation. The flap style release is the Mike Malaska / maybe a bit of Mike Austin approach. It looks like you could do your self an injury trying this method. But I realise it works for some folk. I can’t help feeling that by removing the arm rotation you also remove one of the power sources in the golf swing. DL was always more concerned with accuracy versus power. Faldo was so successful in the90’s but then Tiger turned up in 95 and that era was gone. David Leadbetter remains one of the most famous coaches in golf, just hope David has moved back closer to his original mission & methods.

I love the video. I wanted to know more about your aim (swing distance or aggressiveness) when in a bunker? Do you aim (like your swing) like an uphill putt, which would be past the flag because of the sand so that you know your ball will be short and roll? or do you aim short (before the flag) because of roll? Thank you guys I have watched your video and have GREATLY improved my golf.

Keep your clubhead clean, especially the grooves! It will help ALLOT if you want to put some extra spin on the ball!

Are the before and after the wrong way round? At 7.57 the 'after' is still a massive flip, suggesting that even with the grip change his face is still open. I intitially tried bowing my wrist in down swing (after seeing the same fault but to a lesser extent on my own swing) with fantastic results on the course but only lasted a few weeks. Eventually i shortened my arm swing, which makes you turn more, get left sooner and better clubface without having to 'manufacture it'. The Hack motion thing is 'correct' to an extent but the wrist and clubface arrives in postion in space by correct body movement. I think!

The flip Will still be there in this lesson as we didn't work at that and it wakes way more time to correct that as it's a long time sequence things that Sean has "coded" in. The biggest difference here is in the face position and body movement inn the swing. This will also take a little time to get things moving towards the target.

Question - In the side by side, the 'after' swing still looks like he's throwing the hands and casting. I do the same. Should I be focusing more on the hip turn and follow through to stop throwing the hands?

Great question Mike. The Early Release will take a lot more time to change.. his body needs to start moving better first and reacting to the club face being more closed. Creating that shaft lean is a hard one to change and definitely a process.

I just bought my first "AAA" driver. Oh. My. God. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A QUALITY DRIVER MAKES (compared to cheap titanium drivers.) It wasn't the distance that impressed me either, 12-15 additional yards is cool and everything, but it was the INSANE INSANE INSANE FORGIVENESS.

Where I get off track is letting g myself feel “rushed” in order to keep things moving in my foursome… need to stay in my own mindset and relax. Go through my pre shot routine and take a deep breath. 👍🏻🏌🏻‍♂️

I have a question. When you reach the top of backswing what is the first move on the down swing ? Hands first, weigh shift, rotation????

Please save my golf swing. I consistently come off the toe of my irons. Think of the worst toe shots and I’m worse. I’ve tried everything to fix it. I need your guys help. I once played great golf and these past two years have been the biggest struggle with my irons.

I have had a similar drill in the past but holding an alignment stick along with the club, but that makes it a bit more awkward trying to hold both club grip and alignment stick. Will definitely give this a try at home
