Measurable: The New Blender Add-on for CAD Style Measurements

Thanks this is great, I would love if you could restrict dimensions between two vertices to a single axis, ie. for showing the height differences between two points that are not necessarily aligned on the z-axis

Loving it. Hope there'll be an option soon for aligning dimension text parallel to dimension lines rather than perpendicularly. Edit: Also would be very helpful to be able to pick a dimension in the scene and have it highlighted in the N panel or modifier stack for editing. Sifting through a long list in the stack and trying to guess which is which is such a pain once you have more than 5 dimensions in the scene.

Would be good to be able to set the default empty sizes -- they are far too small on some projects.

How to set up manually increased scale of measurements by default? When I add measurements, they are too small.

check bforartist for how they used icons menu and make a toolbar of this dimension like an icon for 2 point dimension. or radius icon toolbar for radius

Hi Johnny, I just purchased Measurable. Thanks for creating this. I'm learning to use it (less than an hour). (FYI Engineer by training, CAD). My question is about scaling and making edits. On a box, two object length across two vertices if I scale the object in Object Mode, the measurement callout gets longer along with the box but the dimension value doesn't change. If I delete the measurement and remeasure, I get the original value but I've scaled the box so the measurement should have increased. If repeat the operation, but do it in Edit mode, so in Edit mode, select all of the box and then scale it, the measurement doesn't get longer but if I remeasure the edge, the measurement is accurate. Is that the best way to scale something (in Edit Mode)? Is there another way where the measurement will increase or change with the object when its changed? Thanks

Yes this is something I was looking at as well. The way I model it would be great if it updated live as I changed the size of the model the way measurit tool does.

Actually, scub my previous comment. What we really want is a way to link the Camera Views onto a drawing Sheet (Title Block). Also a way to do Sections cut through the model..

amazing add-on, i follow the video, but there is a problem, when i insert the measure of internal circle, the dimension text, is rotated of 90 and in camera is not visible, while other measure like angle,left side edge, is correct visible in camera, why the text measure is not in camera vision? how do you rotate text by 90 gradi?

Just got this Addon and have it installed. Followed your video, Maker Tales video and the online instructions. I select two vertices on a simple cube, go back to Object mode and select the bounding box. at this point all the options for adding a measurement are grayed out. I've tried this on my desk top as well as my laptop with the same results. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much

How can we add a vertex on curve edge? I have a triangle and I want to add a point on the opposite side of a specific angle. Can you make a tutorial on that if possible?

the text and arrow should be by default 0 and rotation 90 and that rotation by degrees is just an option for special dimension, its too slow in all cad software its all flat in hor or vertical plane

Good effort, but for me there's too much setup involved. I'll settle for using the built-in "Measure" tool for now.

after selecting the vertices in edit mode an then select the container in object mode ;the add measurementsmenue stays grayed-out. What is the reason?

Every measurement is a geonode group under the hood. You could do quite a bit of customization if you were brave 😁

Hi Johnny, i want to buy your addon, but Gumroad not accept paypal, and i have no credit card. Maybe you can change this on Gumroad ? I think more people want to buy if the usage of paypal was possible. Or maybe bring it to Blendermarket, that's my personal favourite

This is really bad for small objects, bought it but i regret it. Units are too big, measuring is rotated on Z axis, no use for it at all. Needs more work.
