Ray came to Washington from his native Bronx in the early Sixties as an Army infantry/intelligence officer and then served as a CIA analyst for 27 years, from the administration of John F. Kennedy to that of George H. W. Bush. Ray’s duties included chairing National Intelligence Estimates and preparing the President’s Daily Brief, which he briefed one-on-one to President Ronald Reagan’s five most senior national security advisers from 1981 to 1985.

Nah. China is stronger. Tech more advanced too. Russia just has more nukes, but that is overkill. They need them because they need that massive deterrence factor because they are much weaker conventionally and economically than USA and China.

If anyone recalls the Carlson/Putin interview they will appreciate what I am about to say. Remember the emphasis Putin places on cultural history. Today, as I comment, Xi is on one of his rare out of state trips. His itinerary included France, Serbia, Hungary and Russia. Some 100 + years ago, France was Russia's ally and Serbia was Russia's child protectorate. Xi and Putin appear to be rekindling these ancient cultural affections in order to chip away at the current American/European order. The Gen-X, WOKE, and the other administrative brain farts are oblivious to these facts of life.

The primary check on expanding Federal power was a Senate consisting of those appointed by State Legislatures because those legislatures would want to prevent Federal encroachment on State powers, but the Senate was turned upside down(to shovel power **to** the Federal Government) in 1913 with the 17th Amendment. Why would being popularly elected rather than appointed by State legislatures impel US Senators to shovel power **to** the Federal Government? B/c they have oversight **of** the Federal Government thus, doing so would expand their own personal power.

His point was that the freedoms in the Bill of Rights was the foundation of our country and there is a very large portion of the population, especially former military, who have sworn to fight to uphold those freedoms. If the Israeli criticism law gets passed and upheld in court, that is the type of event that sparks revolution.

The US Constitution was radically progressive for its time. Women didn't have political rights virtually anywhere in the world at the time. Slavery was legal virtually everywhere on Earth. The concept of Indigenous rights hadn't been invented. You can only criticize it from a modern perspective, and, in the modern day, all of these shortcomings have been long ago addressed.
