I forgot to mention that we found out 10 reload is 33ms thanks to reload masterwork and compact arrowshaft giving 10 reload / 33ms each. Also most bows come with 40 reload at base. the base reload on any bow is 633ms. Impulse amplifier reduces 133ms, reaching the cap of 500ms immediately. It would probably help even more if the reload wasn't capped. Thirdly, drawtime displayed in-game as 576ms isn't correct, since as you could already tell we found out there is nearly a drawtime masterwork difference, making 576 have a real time 533ms drawtime. Lightweight bows drop even further at 466ms instead of 500. If you attempt these tests yourself, make sure to make things easy for yourself and test 30fps footage to count in threes, (33, 66, 99) do multiple tests to eliminate human error.

Thanks so much for providing concrete information on this. I'd been wondering for a while and had some ballpark figures but this cements them. The info on the reload being capped at 80 is super useful - so if I have a way to get Reload to 50 and put on two loader mods I'll hit cap, and anything more than that is just wasted stats.

I'd have to add that I tested this at 30fps, and for the small number of frames I counted, this was true. I recently came in contact with a d2foundry Dev and while we were working on putting reload in a TTK calculator, and after we tested at 180fps, we found out it's a little different. Foundry will have accurate reload calculator soon, but at the moment the Devs are busy with other projects. You can still guide yourself with this 33ms method, although not highly accurate, it's good enough for quick buildcrafting

80 reload? Bet. Thanks for the hard work and research.

Nice vid. Quick question: would you happen to know how much reload is given by the Loader mods?
@mazokumo Жыл бұрын
1 loader is 66ms the 2nd loader doesnt do as much, it only adds 33ms 2 loaders is 100ms

Fantastic video. I’ve done so much testing over the years, but I’ve never used video capture, which has held me back. Definitely need to start. I was testing (by feel) various bow reload combinations a couple of days ago. One thing I found was that, on m&k, if I tap the fire button immediately after elapsing an arrow the reload/nocking speed was significantly faster. Is this something that you’ve found?
@mazokumo Жыл бұрын
i mean sure, but thats something that occurs naturally while playing and trying to be as fast as possible, and reduces human error in testing. thats simply the only way to test/play with bows. if youre not doing that then what are you doing yknow?

@@mazokumo That’s true, I’ve always done it without thinking. That’s why I only noticed it recently.

So the 524ms that d2foundry has is incorrect? I’m looking at it without any perks active. Just elastic string and a draw time mw.
@mazokumo Жыл бұрын
good observation. here's the truth: in real time, the drawtime on a bow, or the amount of time you need to nock the arrow back to deal FULL damage, is shorter than what it says in-game. Recently, my friend Irredium discovered the formula which is now used in d2foundry. it's not false. in the video i say the 576ms bow im using is 533ms, but that's because i was judging it based on 30fps (33ms / 1 frame) footage, and anything bellow 33ms be it 15ms or 24ms will still be counted as 33ms. However if you were to record as fast as possible, and record at the highest framerate, the true drawtime is actually what you see now on d2foundry.

Wait, maybe I wasn’t following, so if I have archers tempo, oathkeepers and triggered successful warm up my ttk is still 1 second?
@mazokumo Жыл бұрын
This was mostly about reload, only reload is capped at 500ms even with all the buffs. 1.133 is the optimal ttk a bow can have at base thanks to reload, without anything else, given that you spec to have constantly good reload speed. But Drawtime can be reduced further by archers tempo, successful, cornered, etc. There's just nothing else that goes beyond the 500ms cap at base. Like I said, you can buildcraft for the Drawtime that happens in between shots, but not for the initial draw. (only by activating Drawtime perks). Activating drawtime perks will help you reach TTKs like 0.9 and even 0.8s.

Are these numbers also consistent with lightweight bows?
