I always see comments about this and that making currency but i still feel that there are people that do not see the difference between protecting your wealth and making currency on an investment these two things are very different . An Investment instrunent withing the debt based system is vulnerable you are chained to the ship that may sink. Protecting your wealth or treasury means that your outside the banking or finacitial system not seen by banks or governments therefore risks are mitigated to a level that allows one to sleep and not be constantly looking at charts and buying and selling stock, bonds, and cryptos. This in no way negates that trading is wrong or stacking is any better but brings in sharp relief that one involves greater risk than the other. to each their own and the best of british luck

During bad economic times, gold does go up a lot because the value of fiat money is going down so much. 20% in gold and silver seems wise.

If you dive into this situation: what you'll find is, the vast majority of Au that was 'handed in' was handed over by banks and vaults. They had no power to resist the mandate, however there was only an extremely nominal percentage handed over by ppl who held it physically. Well, what makes me an outlier I guess! I am 57 year-old English immigrant, with zero interest in tech or stocks, and yet I am 110% committed to Bitcoin. I would describe myself as an extreme conservative/libertarian. I had a bad experience trying to pay with my gold and silver in Tennessee where it is legal tender, not even the state and city workers didn’t know it was legal tender to pay any state fees ie taxes. I sold it all and bought crypto, but I still own my gold and silver with my Glint Pay Master Card.

Where can the primary dealers find the trillions of dollars to buy the bonds other than creating the money out of thin air to buy the bonds. Then when Fed buy the bonds from them primary dealers make a profit plus get real money to replace the money they created out of thin air. Why should they be afraid. The more bonds they buy the more they make. This is why there is not a bond failure as the primary dealers can buy them all.

It could be that miners were sold off for tax reasons by investors who bought them back ASAP. If there is price manipulation on metals, one can bet the last trading day of the year would be a focus of the effort to depress price. I certainly expect they will bounce back if they have enough trading volume to attract mainstream attention. They will be very volatile if buyers forget to place limit orders, too.

It was basically flat if you held it from 2010 to 2020, so across 10 years you were just burning money in real terms. I hold 10% of my portfolio in Gold and Silver because it is a low risk asset and performs well in certain economic environments like now. But to say just to hold Gold is a crazy stance, because by diversifying into stocks you could have been protecting your wealth by growing it from 2010 to 2020 rather than seeing it slowly burn just sitting on a pile of gold. I'm not saying you need to degen into every different field going crazy, but you need some level of diversification to truly protect wealth.

That is a ludicrous piece of advise and I hope no one follows that. Gold or otherwise it is a one way ticket to destroying your wealth. First of all there is risk in gold, it is called the time value of money and opportunity risk. For instance, you could have sat in $100 of gold for 10 years from 2010 to 2020 and Gold was sitting back at the same USD price so you would literally still just have your $100 of investment which due to the time value of money, is now worth about $84 in 2010. So in real terms your wealth decreased. Over that same time period, you could have achieved compound gains of c.236% just holding the S&P500. No one knows what sector's will run at what time's. Gold is running now but you would have missed 10 years of potential gains just sitting on gold. Safest thing you can do is diversify to protect wealth. That includes keeping some of your wealth in USD, not just stockpiling gold.

That's smart, the role of advisors can only be downplayed but not denied. I'm quite lucky exposed to personal finance at an early age, worked full time when I was 19, purchased first home at 28..Going forward, got laid off at 36 amidst covid-outbreak, and immediately consulted an advisor to stay on top as of today, I'm barely 15% short of my $1m goal after subsequent investments.
