Europe desperately needs young leaders with your values and ideals, Yanis. Carpe DiEM!

Would not change the outcome he talks about, because Europe have blocked themselves from enough cheap recourses for US interest already. They can't just asking Russia for cheap recourses directly from pipelines as situation is now. That's why this is so serious for Europe....

Dear Mr. Varoufakis, I am writing to express my deepest admiration and gratitude for your principled and courageous stance on global justice and human rights. Your eloquence and unwavering commitment to truth and morality in these challenging times serve as an inspiration to many. Your outspoken support for the oppressed, particularly your advocacy for the Palestinian people in the face of the ongoing genocidal war in Gaza, the illegal acts in the West Bank, and the continued annexation of Palestinian territories, reflects your profound sense of justice and humanity. Despite the opposition and attacks you have faced, your integrity remains unshaken, and your voice continues to resonate with those who believe in a better, more equitable world. Your criticism of systemic corruption and the disintegration of moral values in many European countries is a reminder of the importance of accountability and ethical leadership. Please know that your efforts are deeply appreciated and that your moral courage inspires hope and solidarity among countless individuals across the globe.

The level of “freedom” has become an existential void - a prison in reverse. We are “free” to not be bothered about (much less cared for), by corporations, institutions or governments - apart from our debt that cannot be forgiven. We became the *community of individualists.* The coincidental irony of Hegel, Marx, Smith & Nietzsche all at once. With all of that, all the best for DiEM’ers, Mera’ers, PI’ers - and all who in some way experience our ecological overshoots. 🔥🙏

What's the next step to resist the marriage between the neoliberal centrist and centre right with the neofascist far right? Didn't they not learn from history or are they that arrogant they think they can keep their fascist partners down from usurping them? from personal experience with the German industry - "how can we automate this?" "do you know about AI?" are the hottest things atm; and cybersecurity. but do they want to hire and pay for the necessary people that will save the industry? no. how are they going to adapt once nanotechnology becomes the new industrial standard? by "automating" things? (mostly just excel scripts tbh, good excel scripts but still...). imho the CEOs are filling their own pockets by any means necessary and the you as a person are just a number and are treated like a second class citizen.

4:42 I agree with many points but the Europeans have lost all respect when it comes to human rights. Rather than obsessing about foreign countries the Europeans are to repair the 500 years of harm they caused through settler colonialism. Show the world how much you've changed by giving the Haitians back the money you stole.

why limit yourself to europe why not consider developing countries. i think you have more chances in countries like India and actually make a difference. And you can address europe. You should definitely gather like minded people, form the party and contest in the INDIAN ELECTIONS both regional and national elections. Starting regionally would be more effective. PLEASE SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THIS.

As long as EU economic, military and technology policy is designed in Washington they never benefit average Europeans. European industry needs Russian commodities and the Chinese market or it will never survive.

Economic democracy died with neoliberalism which is what it was intended to do. Politics took on a secondary role as the enforcer of neoliberalism. The results are obvious. Faith in the political system is at an all time low. France and Germany can't form a stable government and the UK is drifting in the same direction. The free unregulated market was meant to bring prosperity and growth but has achieved the exact opposite. Enormous wealth flowed to the few while impoverishing the many and its only going to get worse as Europe descends into a recession. I wish it wasn't so, but talking about humanitarian issues will fall on deaf ears as the economy worsens.

My dearest friends. From Germany. I need a paypal or normal bank transfer dates!!!!
You make great points, but I think you should stop talking about Left and Right. You talk about Fascism but no one is more Fascist than the Greens. You claim people are Xenophobes, but all they want to do is to live in peace in their own nations, and subsidize their own replacement.
@smelyzzajkoСағат бұрын
Yes, this happens with political projects that are top-down like this one, they lose contact with reality on the ground. Even though they really tried to be different, they have not managed to wake up sufficient interest in the public. So we are on the highway to fascism. Last time the outcome was 80 years of progress, stability, and peace, and a part of the world switching over to socialism. Let's hope someone eventually survives this round too, and even better world will come after that... Some say the cycles are inevitable... :(

Petty and pathetic comment. No one has power until, they do. At least he is trying to do something - what are you doing? YV is actually an influential voice, and the more the system tries to crush us, the more he, and those like him, who offer genuinely compelling alternatives, will be listened to
