I love the super fuzz.

I found out about Schottky diodes when I was experimenting with passive ring modulators. That low forward voltage is a must for super small signals.

Thanks for the circuit analysis via LTSpice

Amazing sound and circuit explanation. Very interesting idea the potentiometer after the schottky diodes for clipping control.

Great thing! I would really appreciate a video on diode clipping :)

We do have the clipping diode video for the Big Muff Pi/Siberian project where we go between Schottky, Silicon, Germanium, LEDs, and even the body diodes in MOSFETs. Check that out over here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIObinSil5t_hZY

The supa fuzz had a switch for two sounds a friend had one in the late 60's sounded great who makes the best clone i dont build but love me some pedals

this sounds really nice, im new to this and ive tried to bread board a Super fuzz a few times now and it usually ends up not having much fuzz , im going to see if i can bread board this Meat grinder circuit i really like the tone control you have used. i do have one question , i was wondering if this mid cut/flat could work more like a mid cut/mid boost and have flat be around 50% ? thanks for the video i really enjoyed the sound of this circuit.

The bridged-tee, at least in this configuration, is a passive filter, so it would only be able to cut. To do more of a boost, you'd probably need to look at a gyrator circuit, like the ones used on the Rock Bottom pedal. You'd be looking for a wide Q for that same curve, and just make it so that the potentiometer only boosts and doesn't cut.

Great stuff

Looking at purchsing this pcb and some parts. Do you stock the Schotky diodes? And could I mod it mod it to have an expression pedal jack that brings in the octave effect if I wire the expression jack to either the Tone or clipping pot?
@erikvincent58463 жыл бұрын
We have Schottky's here: www.diyguitarpedals.com.au/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=306 but I am not sure if wiring it up that way would wire the expression pedal to the octave effect.

on the form for the parts it says 56nf film cap but there are none on the website, is this a typo or will i need to go else where?

I think i might try to build this one. I like the versatility. How different is this to the Punkin pi?
@erikvincent58463 жыл бұрын
Though both the Meat Grinder and Punk'n Pi are both fuzzes, the Meat Grinder is more of an octave fuzz while the Punk'n Pi is more of a straight-ahead fuzz, albeit an op-amp one.

@@erikvincent5846 I see, I did not catch the octave part. Going back, I hear it now.

Instead of "Tone", I think "Voice" would've been a more accurate label. Thanks for the SPICE simulation.
