Meatballs is my favorite movie of all time. I was 12 and we saw it at the theater in 1979. I became a huge bill Murray fan after that movie. Everytime I went to summer camp I would always hope my counselors were like tripper.🤣

That's awesome. Must have been a blast to see it in the theater and have grown up with it. I can only assume you never had a counselor like Tripper. I knew about Meatballs as a kid, but for some reason I don't think I saw it until my early twentys. When I watch it I feel like it was a part of my childhood. Kinda strange. Thanks a bunch for sharing your Meatballs history.

My mom dropped us off at the theater to see this movie. I remember the campfire scene coming outta nowhere & terrifying me! I still love the moondust song. This movie is how I remember being a kid in the 70s :)

@HugeMovieFanatics I would recommend the Phantasm soundtrack as a companion piece to Meatballs. They were released the same year & the Phantasm theme is legendary!

Thanks a bunch for sharing your Meatballs at the theater memories. Must have been fun. I can see how that campfire scene could be scary to a kid. Oh yeah, In 1995 I got a special edition Laserdisc release of Phantasm that included the soundtrack on CD. Great stuff.

The song, "Are You Ready Gor The Summer" was a favorite to sing as a kid...though I prefer Caddyshack for my Slobs vs. Snobs, Meatballs is still a fun movie...

It sure is a classic song, that’s for sure. I’m not as familiar with Caddyshack. Thanks for watching.
