If the flashlight doesn't have memory, wouldn't that actually alleviate the issue of having to guess the setting? If I know it goes low-high-strobe-medium, there's no chance of actually going to strobe or something I don't want to. I actually prefer a "dumb" light so I'm curious about that.

That's actually a really great point. You're right. It does have memory. But the problem is that it always advances. I wish that, after entering a constant on, it would return to that mode the next time you turn the light on.

@@BestDamnEDC I have their X11 ??? keychain light. Nothing amazing but I pull it out more than my other lights....because it's right there ! My question is , did you check the compasses against a reliable compass ? If they are reliable then that may be the cost factor. Someone from Wazoo was talking on a video about the very difficult time they had finding an accurate one.

I got really excited when I saw some EDC compasses on the table. Then I noticed that they're just cheap, plastic, liquid filled compasses inserted into a metal casing. I was hoping for something of better quality. You can get 24 of them for $10 on Amazon.

The watch strap light might be more usefull if you rotate the watch to the under side of the wrist while using it. That way the flashlight will be on top of the wrist not obstructed by the heal of your palm. 🤔

Some of us wear our watch face on the inside of our wrist all of the time (so I was thinking the same as you, the light would make more sense on the top of the wrist instead of on the inside)

I have a Mec Army copper compass. They do make it. And the flashlight was less expensivewhen I got mine. And they make a nice copper carabiner also.

I have the watch light. So far its working well And nice to just have a light I dont even notice. It is tough to get it to where your hand is not covering some if not all. But wish it had set screws so as not to slide while wearing or slide off when taking the watch off.

When do lume shots you should try using a uv flashlight to charge up the lume on watches or anything else that's needs to be charged for it to work.uv light will charge the lume much much faster and will give the best results.standard flashlights don't really put out the proper type of light for good lume charging being that the lume is designed to charge in sunlight hence the reason why a uv light works best.

I've got a set of 1/8th inch bit drivers. They were really cheap in a set from the hardware stop. Had the sized torque bits I needed to service a knife.

Hey dude. I was thinking about the watchband mounted light and had a couple ideas. First, it might be useful inasmuch as providving a redundant light source (2 is 1,1 is none...). Second, what about holding a notebook, etc. in your watch hand and writing with the other? It would illuminate the notebook, map, device, whatever that you're holding in your 'weak side' hand. Make any sense? As far as the copper compass, it looks really cool and with a small carabiner or piece of paracord might work hanging from your neck, B.O.B, belt pack, or whatever. I agree they're kinda expensive, but I do see potential for usability.

on the CPL-T It looked liked you could change the orientation of unit with those 4 bottom screws. Is that possible? I think it makes more sense to have the led shooting out from the outside of the wrist. There would be no obstructions to output and its the same orientation as if you were checking the time on your watch.

I really like that little copper flashlight, except you can’t operate it with one hand. The aluminum version has knurling to allow for that. In retrospect, I wish I had got the aluminum one (lighter and cheaper too). The copper one isn’t heavy, but the aluminum one is one of the lightest flashlights available (only 10 grams). The operation is very intuitive and simple. Plenty bright for such a tiny light (any brighter and it would just get way too hot), although I would prefer a warmer hi cri option. Also, they need to stop coating these lights. People buy copper because they want it to patina. I sanded mine, so hopefully that will work.

Anybody prefer flashlights that aren't rechargable by USB only, in favour of ones with removable batteries so you can charge as many as possible in SHTF? Or better yet, ones that take AA batteries for a small bugout torch? You can stack up quite a few batteries then. What do you do when SHTF and your battery runs out of charge...??

Should be P.O.S.-16. For $90 the interface is all wrong. Why have to cycle? Who decided on it? Just doesnt make sense. I have to disassemble the light to charge it?2000 lumens for 30 seconds seems useless. I dont know how much I would use that light if it were given to me.
