You know what kind of people are the absolute worst? The ones who carry around a full blown IFAK like they’re a fucking Special Forces medic. Easy guy, you’re going to panic and faint at the sight of blood anyway.

Great video. If you have not tried horizontal cross draw appendix, carry on your belt, you might change your mind about carrying a knife on your belt. Very comfortable concealable, and one of my favorite ways to carry.

What people dosn’t realize is that the blade of that bm is still sharp and has minimal damage compared to the other one. Yes it snaps in half but, in regular use do you really need to do that? Will you snap it in half yourself? Pathetic way to put it on test like that. It is not designed for heavy duty cutting. It is a small blade with a decent price. Realy? People are crying over this? BM should sue this guy. That’s defamation right there.

I just bought a mini Bugout, before I saw this video. I went with the 533-3, which is the version with carbon fiber scales. I went with the mini Bugout for 2 reasons, blade length and the wide variety of customization options out there. I got the 533-3 for 110 bucks, a steal. I don't have it yet, but my plans are to put aftermarket Ti or Aluminum scales, eventually. I'd bet that the carbon scales are more robust than those FRN or whatever they're calling their plastic. I'm hoping I really like it. I prefer to buy American, but on my budget, I'm limited. 110 bucks for S90V and carbon fiber, I couldn't pass it up.

Haven't bought a BM since my 940...well over a decade or 2 ago. They are crazy with their prices. I won't give them a dime of mine anymore.
@vitaly63122 күн бұрын
Your video was mostly fine. I didn’t see any glaring issues. But as a former owner of 3 benchmade knives (lost one and sold 2) I think the price of them is ridiculous. I love the 940 Osborne but I babied it like crazy since it was so expensive for me at the time. It’s far more expensive now. The bugout should be a $80-100 knife but it’s double and I can’t justify it if I’m going to daily carry it and beat it up. I can justify doing that to a civivi or herbed or crkt or the ozark - all of which combined are less than one bugout… That’s also a big issue here.

I picked up the “bugout killer” for about $8 and it’s great. Cheap? Yep. But it’s a knife that stays mostly in the car when I forget to wear mine. Honestly, from someone who likes benchmade, it feels 80% as good for 5% if the cost. It’s not great, but it opens Amazon packages and it’ll air someone out pretty quick in a pinch.

You mentioned the fantic compressor, I personally keep in on my in my go bag or on the saddle bags of my bobber, if in riding with someone it stays in the go bag if I know it’ll just be me in the taco it stays behind the rear driver seat, it has been amazing for me and I’ve used it several times on the road with strangers when it’s in a pinch it’s been fantastic for me

I started carrying a wallet/pocket organizer several years ago (ARC Company or Hitch and Timber, depending on items in pocket) and since I started carrying those organizers, my EDC has been streamlined a lot. I decide what I can carry based off of if it can fit correctly in my organizer in my pocket. I usually carry a Swiss Army Knife, Fisher Space Pen Bullet and a Bic lighter in the front pockets and use the rest of it as a wallet. Outside of my pistol and flashlight, it holds all that I need. I highly recommend them from either company. I go Hitch and Timber when I carry alox Swiss Army knives and ARC Company when I carry a celidor Swiss Army knife.

the EDC fixed blade from swiss tec looked cool if it will hold up I would buy it. I can always sharpen it a little more often if the steel is ok. i wouldn't mind seeing you check that out.

Hear me out and don’t crucify me… I agree that Benchmade is over the top on price. However this is what you get when you want made in America! As an Oregonian where quite a few big name knife companies have come from, Benchmade is the last hold out. Leatherman, Kershaw, Gerber, all of them have sold out. Some still claim “manufactured” in the US, but all there crap comes from overseas. If we want things made here we are going to pay a ridiculous premium. Maybe if the economy changes it will get better but as it is I will still support made in USA…

You can unfold your folding knife and never fold it again and it will pretty much act as a fixed blade knife. This is what is so cool about folding knives. They are an advanced and improved version of a fixed blade knife. If you keep folding it and unfolding it, it will wear off that is normal. Nothing lasts forever

The gerber ultimate survival is a good knife from Wal-Mart and i like it a lot but the blade quality isnt superior. Ive broke one in half batoning thru kindling, i broke the tip off another one but cant remember how, and chipped the serrated part on another. fiasked them if they sold replacement firestarters because mine was wearing down and they sent me a whole new knife with sheathe, sharpener, and ferro rod

Hey A little off topic question. I still go to school but also edc. After school i stay out a lot, also in not so nice areas. A lot of dangers that you possibly want to be prepared for. Now obviously schools don‘t like you taking knives or simmilat things to class. Does anyone have suggestions how to deal with that? Thank you for your ideas.
