Meccano Ratchet mechanism

I made a Meccano tractor with Constantinesco torque convertor in the 50s - it had conventional Meccano ratchets and would have benefitted from having these ones, had I only known!

Nicely done. Have you considered using a spring instead of a elastic band for the sake of longevity. I am an Erector builder, from the States, and I designed and built a ratchet for the winding mechanism on my Erector grandfather clock. I used springs from ball point pens in mine. Would love to share a pic or video but can't as this is YT comments.

It looks very ingenious to me but i don't understand the term "ratchet" mechanisme. I'm afraid my English is from school and not technical enough

+Frans Dullemeijer I could have called it a constant mesh mechanism. Ratchet is the ratchet wheel (part number 148).
