My new favourite series! Bought the game so hope I will enjoy

It's really fun! Just go into games with the mentality that you're gonna lose and learn and have fun through experimentation and that helps get rid of the annoying nerves some people get with this kind of game.

In that first game I think your own Melting Point was way too far back, it didn't get into the action until the fight was almost over. Contrary to what you'd think I believe you actually want your crawlers in the back and your slow units up front so they arrive about the same time right?

you should get more units of one type, especially if you spend money on upgrades! and you need to actually use the unit deployment slots every turn over spending money on upgrades etc. but nevertheless I love to see you playing the game and looking forward for more:)

I'm not familiar with this game except these videos. In the first match I kept wanting him to buy anti air upgrades. Put units on the flanks. Oh well maybe I'll check this game out for myself. EDIT: yes keep posting. This is an interesting game, and frankly any game where you can win but not worrying about clicking more than your opponent I like.
@Freecell828 ай бұрын
@@1337billybob Definitely worth checking out! It's very quickly become one of my favorite games. And yeah, you're right about the air. Tech should be bought to solve specific problems. In the first match, he was struggling with the donuts in particular, so aerial spec does way more for him than the general damage.
@1337billybob8 ай бұрын
@@Freecell82 Oh I bought it last night. Put in a couple of hours. I'm still in the I want the big robot that punches mindset but having some issues with managing anti air. I just don't always want to buy marksman. Been playing bots and that's probably how I will mostly play it cause finding a half hour to play uninterrupted is difficult to do these days.

As seen with the Melting Point, isn't upgrading tech better than sheer numbers?
@zoxin92938 ай бұрын
You kinda want both: Upgrading tech on a single unit is not as effective as buying another one. Case and point that EMP salvos that slowed and disabled Indrid units upgrades are 1 per Melting Point. However there are tech upgrades that scale with unit level which means you want less numbers but more lvl-up investments.
@1207Kestrel8 ай бұрын
generally speaking no; deployment slots are the most valuable "resource" you have and you basically wanna make sure to use them both every turn. Because basically there is no way to catch up in units deployed. If your opponent deploys 2 units on one turn and you don't, they are basically now ahead 2 units for the entire game (provided they don't also skip a turn or are forced to sell something). It can be very hard to come back from. Additionally, tech cost scales +200 per upgrade on the same unit, but EMP upgrade shuts it all down the same. I.e. for example if Indrid had like 1 marksman with EMP on the left side even, they would've shut down all 4 techs on that melting point, and the 2000+ supplies the enemy invested in the techs would've been countered by 1 300 cost tech from indrid. Alternatively he could've also simply added another melting point himself on the side; the enemy melting point always took a looooong time to clear all his chaff there, so his MP would've connected first and easily killed it, and those caouldve had emp too. (this isnt supposed to be like backseating or anything, just an explanation using the match we all saw as an example)

If you have no startegy any choice will lead you to defeat. Melting points are not that good vs a lot of Indrid's units but he made so many mistakes its hard to count. Including leaving 500 cash in the bank. Mustangs AA upgrade doubles their dmg output vs flying unit so its better than 50% increase vs everything as there is no amount of mustangs that can kill a single arclight with armor up. Typhoons with AA upgrade will also wreck most of the flyers. Scorpions was a a nice pick but too few and not upgraded. Doubleshot and/or acid explosion would help a lot with melting points and other heavies. Hackers were not upgraded and not helpful. They got cd between hacks and they are very fragile. They also cant target air.... Anyway lvl 4 melting point got like 250 000 hp and hacker is not a dedicated counter. Neither for enemy crawlers (main hack attempts). Also hacking will not be successful if something get exploded via Scorpion. 1.000 resources down the drain. Too many crawlers were feeding enemy arclights enormous amount of exp. Only viable upgrade would be subterrenean blitz as its +speed and very reduced range dmg when they travel. Also if you swim in crawlers set some in flanking positions. it will split enemy forces, use up melting point electro barrage and pull some units even if for a few seconds. Typhoons were not covered from enemy fire whole game and they pulled enormous value regardless. Ofc he upgraded them despite having only one squad at the table. Funny thing after first round enemy got very strong position but they did not have any AA. So next time I suggest wraith insead of scorpion. He would clear off the table and maybe even lvl up.

If you don't want the free units, you can sell them immediately. You get a lot more than the 50 from skipping. And you probably should do that if you feel like none of them really help you.

Huh. Saw that game in steam the other day and I thought it looked pretty boring. But It appears kind of cool with the random thing. Not sure about balancing... looks a bit snowball-y Also is it just me or Indrid sounds more british with every video? :D

Hmm, this feels like RTS crossed with tower defence. It's no DoW2 but I do like a bit of POV gameplay sometimes.
@Freecell828 ай бұрын
The genre is called autobattler or autochess. Most entries in the genre so far have been mods for other games like dota or league. Not a lot of examples built from the ground up like this one so far, though they seem to be slowly gaining steam.

From what i have seen so far, I think, hackers are the "all in" unit( you invest heavily into them in the field or not at all ). Hackers need mustangs( because hackers don't hack air, i don't think ), and either "multihack" or some sort of chaff clear( they sucked trying to hack crawlers ). So something like crawlers,mustangs,hackers,phoenixes as a general comp
