It just occurred to me that a great effect to give the mechs would be to add heavyish plumes of smoke to the thrusters, especially if the thrusters are fueled by black powder.

Absolutely superb! I love the design and the movement! If I could make one constructive criticism: Try to keep the knight in frame at all times. Look at how other action-based games like Armored Core do it, maybe it might shed some light on the subject :)

Depending on how the game works/how development goes, id love to see other mechaknights as either npc's or alternative characters(especially if they have different designs and/or mechanics based on other common knight helms. maybe a jousting knight that moves faster forward and has a charge but might have more limited side to side movement? maybe a more heavly armored, slower knight based off of bucket helms?) Even if not I'm already very fascinated!

The Knight character could use a movement ability that shoots the blades at enemies like arrows/ballistas, but have a tether of some kind, allowing the Knight to use his rocket packs in conjunction with the tether retracting!

You got my attention! This game looks really cool! I could see the MechaKnight having interchangeble weapons and armor with different stats and designs. A rocket-powered war hammer A pole-arm like a spear or halberd for sweeping strikes. A rapid-fire crossbow A drill-bit lance and shield A ball and chain that can grapple would be cool as well

I like the heavy stomping when he walks, gives the animation a lot of weight, feels like a true mecha, same with the attack animations. Maybe add some camera wobble/sway when walking/running to sell that sense of weight even more?

Just one thing for the sense of scale: You guys have to make the pavement/ground much smaller-looking. After all, pavement is laid by humans, for human use. Pavement stones as big as the mech's foot, when the much smaller peasants are running around, makes for a big break in the suspension of disbelief once one notices the discrepancy. Still though, I'm excited for your game!

I'm extremely curious to see more mech designs! Especially if they are all equipped with some sort of melee weapon. A skinnier polearm combatant or a bulkier mace wielder. Some enemies that could be cool to see are some eldritch horrors! Not specifically cthulu but maybe something similar. Like an Elder Brain that telekenetically throws buildings and rubble at you.

I dunno. Subjective take but I like it on the steps. I think it's subtle enough to not be distracting. Might try dialing it back on the sword swing impacts just to maintain visual readibility in combat.

I think that each individual stone on the floor is too big. Making it feels unnatural that the stone floor managed to be that flat. Comparing them with the size of the people also feels off. This is just a small detail nitpick though.

*KZbin did it's magic with my previous comment, so I'll copy and paste again since everything in the trailer looks really cool and I want this game to be an amazing experience.* So far the game looks with lots of potential, I really like the art style and the idea behind it. In terms of moves I'd add and stinger attack (Devil May Cry) with one blade at high speed drived by the thrusters, bare hands melee combat just like at the beginning of the trailer since the mech have big fists, and maybe the ability of performing some special attacks when the enemies are staggered like graving the dragon by the tail to tossed it around, slamming it to the ground, a rising dragon like in Street Fighter, etc. And also I'd recommend looking into games such as Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and God of War to get some moveset ideas that could be applied to the mechs. Last thing, I know the game is in very early stages of development but still this is something that should be taken into account later in development, music is extremely important and should be done carefully just like sound effects, the games I mentioned previously in terms of moveset also have a really good soundtrack and sound effects that adds a lot to the experience, so keep that in mind. To finish, I say this not with the intentions of offending but as feedback, the music in the trailer on the Steam page sounds like AI (no offenses intended), and to be fair I could be entirely wrong about that, but music is also an integral part of the experience and it should be treated with care, so make sure to do it right and take your time with that as well.

By the way, I added the game to my Steam wishlist right away since this is something I never thought about but I'm glad someone else was inspired enough to make it (I loved Pacific Rim). This game looks like it could easily be a masterpiece if done right in the future, so by all means take all the time you need to make it right.

Having alternate mechknights with different style weapons and helmets would be cool. One with a crossbow arm and a shield arm and a sallet style helmet that is faster and based on ranged combat, one with a 2 handed double ended polearm and a jousting helmet for wide sweeps and less movement but longer reach... I'd start with 4 classes basically if you go this route. Swords as a general all rounder, crossbow (or ballista in this case) based on speed and maneuverability, polearm focusing on DPS and wide crowd control, and a tank with a tower shield and a big war hammer or flail. They could also be NPCs if implementing 4 separate models would be too much. As a general criticism, I don't like the jetpack. Its too sci-fi and makes the mech slide around like its on ice all the time. One thing I liked about the first pacific rim movie was the mechs felt big and slow and their movement had such weight to them. When the sequel came out and they made the mechs fast and more cartoony it took away from the appeal and made it feel less like actual giant mechs and more like action figures slamming into one another... Moreover the mech moves too quickly through the environment while boosting. Its feet slide on the ground even though its not a jump and it feels unnatural. T The thing about movement of large objects is they should be slow and weighty, not fast and agile... and they shouldn't feel weightless, at least not without it being hyper advanced like with armoured core. If I'm playing as a giant hunk of metal it should feel like it. Idk... It just feels to floaty. I like the running animation and like the idea of being just a big guy essentially.
