Great explanation. Thanks. Yes, friction is a counter force (negative) but it is reduce almost to cero by using rollers in the ramp.

How do we calculate the mechanical advantage if one of the input or output forces is applied with an angle that's not a right angle???

@@maricog658 Yeah that was my initial thought but then I checked a reference book and the definition of MA is (the magnitude of the load fore over the MAGNITUDE of the applied force) in the case of levers. Since it's saying the "magnitude" we cannot break it into its components.

I think I have a mistake in your calculations. At 5:20, when you cross multiply the force input doesn't just go away, it'll still unknown. So it would have been 24/6fin and then once you do that you would get a force input of 4, not 6! Even if you didn't cross multiply and figured it out like an equation you would have gotten 4- not 6. Hope this is helpful.

He just simplified it like this: 24=6Fin Fin=6/24 Fin=4 So when you reverse it its factor (-,+x or /) reverses so yeah he is right but didn't make it clear enjoy ta!
