I found that If there is no regenerator the efficiency will be given by (TH - TC)R ln r / (CV (TH - TC ) + R TH ln r), where r is the compression ratio (Vmax/Vmin) and CV is the specific heat at constant volume.

the regenerator you called is simply the hose or tube connecting the two cylinder in actual stirling engine? thankyou

Nice description but the volume on the cold side is kept low does it balance the system.
