I´m an engine builder from Germany...working on classic car and truck engines plus OM engines like in the vid. If this guy and me would work parallel on the same motor there wouldn´t be any difference in the work you do. Spent 5 years in 3.world countries, building engines, learnd so much from people like him. Summary: They know better! Excellent job with the minimum of tools and equipment ---- the only noticeable hickup is the fact that the Engine was rebuilt but its still barking out black smoke from the exhaust ----- not normal ---- must be residual oil when the pistons was lubricated in the re-assembling process ----- definitely oil burning --- not diesel --- if it was the injector pump or injectors there would be white smoke billowing out

It is quite normal after rebuild..the stucked engine oil in turbo or engine tubings will be burned out ...first 50 km may be there after that no more smoke

lol. This particular place is hub for vehicle repairs for most of the country. This part is close to Pakistan and for long time the currency used was Pakistani currency and since Afghan currency is four times more higher, for most people their service seemed pretty cheap and thats how they become the hub for repair

A bit selective with using it though, and new big end bolts, pushrod stored in a piece of cardboard in their original order etc would be good practice. And the original cracked crankshaft damper rubber seemed to have been sent out for another 400,000 miles.

Diesel fuel injection pump..those small covers are valve covers...individual valve covers for each cylinders...
