In an automobile, an engine oil is used to reduce the friction and ensure smooth functioning of the various parts in an engine. An internal combustion engine plays a pivotal role in the functioning of the car. It works because of the reaction between fuel and air, that is the oxidation of the fuel. An engine is made up of many parts that work in tandem to make sure that the vehicle keeps running.
An engine oil comes into play to maintain the smooth functioning of the various parts of an engine and to avoid friction between them. This is largely dependent on the thickness or, technically speaking, the viscosity of the motor oil. Different oils have been given gradation according to their viscosity and these gradations have been provided by the ‘Society of Automotive Engineers’ (SAE) who take into consideration various viscosity characteristics.
Over time, the quality, consistency, and color tend to change on your oil-based lubricants this is because of many factors that directly “age” your oil.

Every bike or scooty or car has a service book where manufacturer of the vehicle has written which quality of engine oil is required for the particular vehicle and also described there how long the engine oil (kms/months) is suitable for use. Vehicle Owner don't take other's advice. Writing here long long time experience.

You can use... Suzuki recommended 10w30 but I use 10w40 fully synthetic jo ki sabse achha hai engine ke liye..

@@jrrpapun First know where the use of synthetic oil, semi synthetic oil and normal oil. It depends climatic conditions of the area summer/winter/mostly heavy rain. Synthetic Oil is not suitable for the summer area, best for the winter area.

In Bd we use minarel oil for 900 to 1000km And synthetic oil for 2000 to 2500km.😊

It is bad for engine health because engine recommend 10w-30 oil .you can upgrade to 10w- 40 but do not downgrade. don't change number before (w) 5w -30 is thin oil it will not lubricate your engine properly . Don't change your grade what company have tell you stick to that only it will be good

Johaar bhaiya g Hum apne bike me 20w50 grade ka company wala oil drain karte hain 2200 kms pe toh oil 850 ml nikalta hai 1 litre daalte hain Fir wahi pe motul3100 20w50 use karte hain bike thodi smooth hoti hai yeh v 2200 se 2500 kms pe change karte hain oil nikal ta hai 750 se 800 ml Wahi hum motul 5100 daalte hain 15w50 no super smooth kar deta hai bike ko wahi hai 1200 kms pe hi top up karwana padta hai n top up karwa k 2500 se 3000 kms chalate hain 500 ml top up karwana padta hai wahi wapas se company ka oil daalte hain 20w50 n usko 2200 se 2300 kms chala k drain hain to wahi 850 se 800 ml nikalta hai humari bike bajaj pulsar 150 dtsi single disk ug4 bs3 hai But riding experience motul 5100 15w50 me achha mila hai humko bike sper smooth perform karti hai Wahi 3100 me kam n genuine me vibration v rehta hai Bataye is 5100 ko dalne se koi problem toh nai hai na q company 20w50 grade recomend karti hai wahi 5100 ka grade 15w50 hai N ye oil daalne se oil consumption v jayada hota hai doosre me normal rehti hai Ye oil daalne se koi problem toh nai hogi na plz bataye
