I look forward to following this project. I'm looking to restore my '97 4Runner. She's definitely seen some better days and I want to bring her back to her former glory. These trucks are great!

97!! Awesome!! I am going to be doing pretty much everything to it over the next year or so including pulling the motor for a rebuild. Let me know if you have anything specific you want to see...my list is huge;) Have two videos in editing right now will post next week.

Happy to find this project. Recently bought a 1998 like this other than leather seats. Near same condition, sort of. paid $2500 for mine. Doing new engine(250k mi). Since I live in Indiana, mine will be a lifted trail truck. Believe it or not, not much rust. Not 100% of a style direction though. We'll see. Definitely plan on watching your progress. Hopefully pick up some good tricks. My current truck is a 2003 4Runner v8 limited w/ 248k miles. Will be my sons truck soon. I better get busy..

Great find. Toyotas are generally mechanically bulletproof. A pick and pull wrecking yard and Ebay will help with your budget refurb. I would change fluids but be thoughtful about the transmission. Often times if it hasn't been changed at the proper intervals and you do refresh, you may have potentially opened a can of worms. If you do change the transmission fluid , use only Toyota factory ATF. Just my humble opinion based on many different vehicles I have owned and maintained. Great channel, hope you didn't sell that sweet Square K-5!

Skinner!! Stoked to have found it. Its a really cool vehicle. So many projects to do! I have started to search craigslist, offer up, ebay...like you said parts are easy to find for sure. Ill hold tight on the transmission fluid change. Would be cool to just pop it out and do a rebuild video.
