Thanks for this video. For part b, why did we not take the vertical distance as -Usin(alpha) and substitute alpha=30degrees into it? Because we still kept the Ucos(alpha) as the horizontal distance, wouldn’t we do the same for the vertical distance and attach a negative to it?

usually when it goes up its + when it goes down it is - g is always -

because the horizontal distance is always consistent whereas the vertical velocity vector always changes
