Good diagnostic. Strange how a problem can manifest in a symptom seemingly completely unrelated to the origin. Many others (including myself) would have been chasing ghost and throwing parts at it for a while.

370 AMP, not 170 AMP. They seem to be the way to go with solving alternator and power issues. Auto makers these days are loading up the cars with computer modules, wiring, electric this and that, electronic this and that including electric power steering, cooling fans, fuel pumps, instrument clusters, display screens and sensors galore yet their quality of alternators have not really seen much improvement as the electric demands increase. Also, remember that the wire gauge all the way back to the fuel pumps need to be sized correctly for the full max amp draw depending on length of wire.

I definitely wanted more amps, but unfortunately I'm limited to case size with the particular brackets I have.
