I was born in the 80s and there really wasn’t too many games that stood out as amazing back then. As a kid I was at the dentist and the Dental specialist had his gaming PC in his office and he showed me MW2. I was blown away and wanted to get the game so badly. Thank god we had a PC at the house that the game was compatible with. Soon after, I became a huge fan of the franchise. Just seeing this remake brings all those great memories back. Seeing someone remake MW2 as a mod is amazing. Sadly, Only problem for me is I don’t currently have a PC that could play MW5. When I get my next PC, this is going to be the first game I’m going to play. I really love the Mechwarrior and Mechcommander franchise. Brings back all the nostalgia I had as a kid.

IF we are only getting one more DLC for Mech 5, and i hope we get more, they need to 1. add Solaris and more weapons & mechs, 2. have the next campaign be about first contact with the Clans either by being hired through Steiner, Rasalhague or Comstar investigating pirates and lost contact with the periphery. Now I know Mech fans know the story and lore but the causal fans do not. A great way to hype up and introduce the Clans to new players would be to give them a taste of combat with the Clans in a final DLC for Mercs 5. Mason himself is a Clan child and would be offered a chance to join the Clans depending on his Clan origin of course so it DOES work if you took missions with or against them. On the business end this would be an amazing way ingame promote Mech 5 Clans while keeping Mech 5 Mercs in relevancy. The more DLCs Mercs can get the more people will jump on it

I've never played Mechwarrior on PC. Just Mechwarrion pape-and-pencil rPG game and Battletech table top game. I used to love Earthsiege 1 and 2 games on PC, these were amazing imo. Maybe i should try MW today?

Absolutely beautiful. This is what I imagined the game was like when playing it back in the late 1990’s.; the stomping of the Mad Dog through the sands, the sleek fighter cockpit and the barrage of weapons raining down on your enemies. And that Mad Dog is just stunning. Is that what the Mad Dog looks like in MW5? Keep up the awesome work Mechwarrior!

I've got zero nostalgia link to Mechwarrior 2 and 3, I started my mech journey with 4, but this is special. It has such a cool old school vibe. I'm surprised Piranha studios doesn't offer you a job and then the next game go back to the older days. Seriously, Incredible stuff! Can easily tell you've put a lot of time and thought into this because of how well everything meshes together, such as the computer updates as you're engaging with enemy mechs, and the interactions during the mission like the destruction of the power plant, and the scanning of the scorched Earth at the destroyed base. Wonderful 🙂😊

Impressive! Couple points I hope to see change...all music from original mechwarrior 2- no remake, open concept cockpits, stream lrms with no minimum range...maybe a re-skinned dropship and we got something really nice! The narration at the end by the way was a great touch, with different ai voices it should be quite interesting!

You captured the feel of the original missions. You captured the difficulty of the original missions (I was thinking to myself: 4 mechs, in the MW5's engine?). But no, that Nova was a deadly opponent. Even the Jenner and Firemoths were incredible -- they were fast, accurate, and capable. The mission ended up being a nail biter as you were duelling with the Nova pilot. I want to see more! I think you did great! One issue: the comments are correct that Clan LRMs do not have minimum range. That being said, which is a veeeery minor bone to pick, YOU DID A BLOODY GREAT JOB!

Nice. Maybe since the MW5 lead dev is onboard with this we could see a fully polished full conversion of all the old MW2 games including GBL and MWM1 using the new UE5 MW5 Clans as a bonus DLC. Oh and they definitely need to remove minimum distance on LRM's and have image enhancement heat camera back too.

Great work! I played MW2 a lot as a teenager. So many good memories! Ilove Yaml, but in this case Imo Yaml is not needed. Adds too much that the old MW2 did not have.

Dude - i literally had my jaw drop open when the betty announced local time set to the original OST but MW5 graphics. This is incredible and the combat is so much more realistic than the flimsy insta-explode mechs in MW2 for this mission. I would 100% support this! One question - how much creative control do you have over the map design/aesthetic. What made MW2 maps so unique was that they had this surreal/alien feel to them - very mono color and foggy. Can that be achieved here?

Teleporting back in time to 1998!!!!!!!!, A friend gave the the S3Virge version of MW2, I still have the CD, but with some damaged track music!! I remember my Mad Dog, 2 LRMS 20, 4 medium pulse lasers, and lots of heatsinks!!! Aiming for their legs, they became inmobilized, so, easy to finish them WUuuuaahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!, My favorite, the TimberWolf 2 LORM20, 4ppcs and 4 machineguns the rest is heatsinks and machinegunn ammo hahahaHHAHAHAH
