Yeah I try to cast a wide net. I can only make 2-3 per month, so the time limits in the video's creation makes it impossible for me to spam the subreddit and be annoying as a built in mechanism for it as well.

I don't like using mods. I only use "Mech Attribute Viewer" which adds notes for any hidden attributes a Mech has; otherwise, I only play with vanilla + DLC. This ensures I'm always relatable to the maximum number of players. It also prevents my viewers from developing bad habits like using OP mods as a crutch which reduces their skill level as they become reliant on OP mods. This was seen on the MW5 Reddit as people came out saying they were having trouble with MW5 Clans because the Mechs felt weaker because even Clan Mechs weren't as OP as modded Mechs, and their skills had gone bad becoming reliant on OP mods.

1st . Awesome that I got a reply from you😄. 2nd. Do have any general tips for playing the campaign and career. The only real problem I have is for the dlc I didn’t know the dlc had a time sensitive quests. Is true that’s not a problem in career mode?

It is a problem in career mode. You're talking about basically 4 DLC campaigns. 1) The Kestrel Lancers which covers Davion's invasion into Liao during the 4th Succession War. 2) The Rise of Rasalhague which covers the emergence of the Rasalhague state and the Ronin Wars. 3) The Dragon's Gambit which covers Kurita's defense against the combined FedCom invasion during the War of 3039. 4) The Solaris Showdown which covers Duncan Fisher's rise as a Solaris commentator. These stories happen at a very specific time in the Battletech timeline, so you have to do them when they appear. The game will make a pretty good effort into making you aware of it though. The other side quests are not time sensitive and can be done as soon as they appear or later on... or never if you don't want to do them. My most basic general tips for the new player would be... 1) Change the keybindings for commands. You will want to revise it periodically until the Mech controls exactly the way you want it to. You should eventually feel a familiar connection a Mech the same way you would driving a car for a while. 2) Mind your faction reputation. There's up to a +25% discount or -25% markup if a faction likes or dislikes you. Factions that really dislike you will close up shop and stop selling general equipment, only rare and hero models will be sold. 3) Bigger is not always better. Some of the largest Mechs like the Atlas D are not as good as smaller Mechs like the BattleMaster. What makes a Mech good has a lot more to do with the amount of guns it can equip, how fast it can move, how much space it has etc rather than it simply being heavier.

Thanks got the dlc late , I think I’m in 3088 so I’m think I’m way off in the story line, I only have have rise at the moment but when I get all the dlc I’ll do career to reply the dlc campaign thanks for your help

Yeah so you'd have to restart. You can restart with an imported save though allowing you to reset the timeline while keeping the stuff you own. It will reset your company level and reputation though.

You know when you sigh at an enemy mech that its good. Battlemaster has a good shout as one of the best non hero assault mechs.

I also love battlemaster because AI can use it quite effectively. And it can significantly reinforce heavy lance in the situations where you don't want to loose the speed and have not that much drop tonage. Versatile machine

Charger, BattleMaster and Cyclops can do well as the early assault Mechs. BattleMaster is probably my favorite though the Charger can do a pretty nasty SRM12 + an autocannon which can be crushing firepower.

@GitGudFox cyclops is indeed a great machine. Charger well I don't know why it's not attractive for me. One of the Cyclops variant can carry an ecm and 2 ultra AC/5. That one is a banger

It's a little squishy in Heavy Assault engagements, but with its high mounted torso, weapons can be inserted and the proper time of engagement to overwhelm enemy forces attacks.

Well it doesn't get much heavier armor than 85 tons, and the speed of the BattleMaster will let it evade or take cover from more damage than that little bit of maybe 70ish more armor will get it from being 100 tons.

How do you get this Mech in the base campaign?

The BattleMaster 1G? It's a pretty common Mech, but you have to be far enough into the progression for assault Mechs to begin being sold.

Most of the Griffins are fine if you have the DLC, Solaris Showdown. That gets you the PPC-X which will make most Griffins pretty strong. The best Griffin? That depends. Griffin 1P has a melee weapon which is strong. Griffin 2N "Super Griffin" is probably the best every day Griffin. Griffin 1E can do a lot of lasers and a PPC-X which is strong and also different than the others.

It's a pretty rare model since it was a Star League model. You just have to get lucky and find one. When you're in an industrial hub, check all the locations that indicate a rare Mech is available, and eventually, you'll find one.

I can eventually, but these videos usually take 1-2 weeks to make as a lot of effort goes into them, and they require a lot of concentration to edit. I can usually only make 2 a month sometimes 3 if I have less going on.

I replaced battlemaster's ppc and mg with ac2-BF and SRM with LRM: tactical mech that carry a very strong m laser punch

Yeah, a Brawler setup for the BattleMaster is definitely viable. The medium laser arrays are definitely a standout feature in basically any build.

PPC-X is insanely strong shame the rest of the solaris dlc was a bit of dump with the way the ai works and no co-op I'm not sure if it's worth it just for the cool guns tho? Great build tho nonetheless

Yeah, it's difficult to not recommend PPC-X especially since I am advising new players, so I feel I have a responsibility to recommend the simplest thing that is the most powerful regardless of the weapon types as long as they're base available + DLC.

I visibly wince whenever I fight a BattleMaster, especially when when it bring all SIX medium lasers to bear. Fortunately, this mech is relatively easy to headshot, lost a good few mechwarriors that way.

Yeah they are not exactly the Mech I want to fight against. Even if they aren't the most heavily armored, they're still tough enough especially if the pilot is elite.
