I'm a Jets fan and I was happy to see we traded him - not because he was bad or anything, but I KNEW this guy was CLEARLY the 2nd best receive on the Jets but was not getting the reps for whatever stupid ass Hacket reason. Good on Mecole and really happy for the guy to win another chip considering the way he was treated by my team. Respect

This interview was incredible RC, just wow. As a Chiefs fan, we weren't told too much about his injury. It was kept so vague and many were dismissing him as being weak, not wanting to play, not really hurt. etc. Thank you for allowing him this space to talk about his experiences. Raised my respect for him tremendously. I wish you all the best in your career! I know you will continue to excel!! Thanks again!!

Sensational interview, gotta love how transparent Mecole was here. A lot of people will think he buried the Jets & who is he to talk cause he's a role player but when you go from structure & excellence to mediocre & dysfunction... OF COURSE you're going to have something to say about it. Furthermore, this young man has incredible character to work with special needs children & understands the grace & thankfulness in being able to function through live without assistance. He's got it all together upstairs! Happy for his success! phenomenal episode fellas!

Fantastic interview! Love the thoughtful vibe. Mecole's comments on the Chiefs locker room feeling like everyone is on the same page is so important. I've felt that personality is a huge factor in who the Chiefs acquire. Nearly everyone on that team is heavily teamwork-focused. As a Chiefs fan-- this was really cool to hear. The Chiefs are always very hush hush in terms of giving details about injuries. They keep all the details close to the vest, and dont ever give the fans or even the media covering the team, much info to work with.. i knew about a very VERY vague groin/pelvic injury. Never did i hear any of these details, and i follow the team religiously. Mecole giving all the full details about this paints a much clearer picture. Really cool to listen to this-- even though it was a rough time for him personally

I love how astute RC is about the emotional side of the injury. As someone who was also a gifted athlete, and whose identity was that as well, I broke my neck and was paralyzed playing football. While I had a super rare once in a lifetime recovery, you don’t ever fully recover. I was never the same and my body is and will be broken for the rest of my life. I was 14. I have suffered through depression, PTSD and still have moments where I get sad and heartbroken. So I really appreciate Ryan asking about that.

The fact that KC already discuss that if the 49ers scored a TD in OT. They were ready to go for the 2 point conversion. That’s how ready they were. Meanwhile 49ers were perplexed on the sidelines. This KC winning culture is going to be hard to beat. It’s a team there’s no individual egos. Perfectly explained by Mecole. It’s a team sport.

OMG. Mecole said it perfectly! They had too many egos in the locker room, they weren’t doing it right. Nobody was acting right. Welcome to what makes Andy Reid a phenomenal coach able to take multiple players on multiple teams to the Super Bowl. It’s team mentality, it’s having a standard of conduct, expectation, leadership and accountability. Going to another team has to be a future shock. And for him to come back and be welcomed back says so much. And then catching the game winning touchdown in the Super Bowl. Any team can win on any given Sunday, but the Chiefs will be in the conversation any time they show up because they ARE a team.
