Medaka Update | Back inside for winter! | Amber Lame (mostly?) | VeirdLOG 2023-12-03/11

Those are all the Japanese ricefish, that I currently have. I have taken them inside for winter.
They are mostly of the variety Amber Lame. I kept this strain since 2019.
One male is perhaps an offspring of the main Amber Lame line from a private breeder in Brandenburg and a random small white specimen (possibly Miyuki or a hybrid thereof) I found in a dwarf african clawed frog tank at a pet store...

Echt ein paar wunderschöne Fische, der Myuki/Orange Kerl ist super hübsch.

Finde ich auch... Ich glaube, viele der aktuell produzierten Eier sind von ihm befruchtet. Konnte ein paar Paarungen beobachten...

I love the jittery behaviour they have, i only had plecos, and those are much less Mobile 😆

I had just one pleco in my childhood and as a teenager, but he (I think it might have been a male) was a real character. His name was "Mister Schlupp" or something... That was back in the day when I had community tanks with multiple species. Today in am happy with just two species of ricefish in separate tanks!

Very nice! I assume you keep them in separate tubs. Or do you have a mixed group? That would be an awesome mix to look at, I imagine...
