Some interesting facts about this mission: - Jimmy's sleeves are only changed to white. Funnily enough, you can imagine his "disguise" is his G.I uniform painted entirely white. - Even if you get into the property unrecognized due to a glitch, the chef will recognize Jimmy immediately. It's the same cook from the submarine who somehow survived. - According to the game, there are several prisoners in the manor, but only Gerritt can be found and rescued. - Sturmbannfuhrer Ratter is mentioned during a conversation. He appeared in Merkers Salt Mines in the first Medal of Honor. - The courtyard has the highest number of enemies in one area. Even in the final mission of Gotha, not that many Nazis show up at the same time. - The clock at the end of the level strikes midnight exactly when you enter, but then it stops

I would say its a heavy dose of nostalgia combined with excellently crafted music that makes it very immersive. Mostly everything else is out of date though (imo) .

It's not just nostalgia. In 2002 only nerds played video games. People with IQs high enough to appreciate art and history. Now that everyone plays games it's way more profitable to cater to morons. If this game was released today it would have electronic fart sounds (similar to the Battlefield 3 theme) instead of the orchestral music. There would be female german enemies with gold plated, silenced MP40s mounted with red dot sights. Oh and half of the game would be spent in cutscenes with as many quicktime events as possible.

Rainy days in the summer (and then sunny days lol) I played this for hourrrrs in my room on a little 20 inch tv. I set it up at the edge of my bed on my desk. Amazing times. Got me so interested in history too. This game did a fantastic job making you feel as though you’re in real missions.

There was always a small chance the dude in the office wouldnt recognize you as an imposter. i used to replay this mission over and over until i snuck past him in the beginning. You could actually get pretty far throughout the mission without anyone recognizing you, and could just explore. The chef would always be the hardest to sneak past.

I love this mission. I love going through and completely trashing that manor and saving Gerritt. I love it from the opening segment outside the manor. I had a strategy. Hide behind one of the cars, pop my head up, and snipe one of the guards through the windows of the car. Crouch back down, and switch back to my ID papers. Then pick off the rest of the guards outside the manor. The one downside is the guy at the table just inside the side entrance is going to blow your cover, regardless.

I don't mean anything bad by saying this, but if he was "an experienced player" he would have payed attention to his health when he finished the mission so he can get 85% or more + pay attention for the large number of enemies he didn't bother to kill... and i'll end it by the fact that he missed one of the main objectives of the mission (the map) lol. He was trying to finish the mission as fast as possible, sparing the drunk man has nothing to do with being focused buddy.

This game and this level bring back so many memories. I remember playing this game over and over, playing on all difficulty levels, messing around the cheats and stuff. Man kinda shows me how spoiled I am now, I have a ridiculous number of games on steam, some of which I have not even played, and some I even have forgotten I had. Getting a medal for each mission isn't related to the difficulty but more so to your health at the end of the mission + how many enemies you killed (you need to eliminate a certain percentage of enemies and it changes from mission to another).

@@DemonGodDemigra u just stated why is harder to get the medal in hard mode. U need to get certain amount off enemies, which can be difficult to kill, if u can't deal with them and just evade them if u can. Also bullets do more damage in hard, so u can't end with health intact if u struggle with enemies. There's also accuracy needed, like a 60%. I know rising sun required more accuracy so even though the ai was more predictable it reward u heavily for accuracy(aim was better too.) Rising suns ai couldn't slide, fire with just their arms with almost full body hidden in the walls, and side to side movement. The only thing they did was move one step to the side, or fell flat and roll on the floor and was too slow to be difficult to track. The only hard part is that they appear out of nowhere from holes or trees, but once play the lvl u shoot them before they come out, in Frontline it didn't matter how much u play it was harder to interact with enemies.

Ah, reminds me of my high school years. managing plays at our towns playhouse which was a building leftover from the 1920s.That old fashion brick and memories. Firing up my old ps2 when I got the first bit of independence at 17 in my own first room at night... Reminds me of when I served in historic places like Yorktown va.... that old bridge overlooking the pier with history from before WW2 under which countless sailors tread. Will never forget. old times. Good times

You missed the shotgun in the beginning! Granted you get it later but you can get it early when you first enter the mansion. I know cause I played this as a kid and I just randomly found it. Helped me out early in the mission plus it was cool to just blow away Nazis.
