I don't care what people are saying about the video, nit picking it. it was good, and it made me a little teary eyed, you get to thinking that all the Germans were bad people, most where just doing what they where told, same as the allies. war is never good, like the narrator said "they are fighting and not really knowing why". Each side where just the same as the other, men just doing their job. it's sad really, when the person you shoot at is a father, a brother, a son, a person who could be a nice person. this video told a good message. it's sad how men (and women) have to fight out 2 people's problems just because they don't agree with things or something. was is never ending, it was a thing since the start, when will it ever end.

Awesome video... I can't help to think this could've happen during that particular battle.. I believe a similar deal happened during WWI on Christmas. The generals were not happy and were concerned how they get the boys back into fighting each other. I'm not sure they actual sang silent night in English and German at the same time. However, it does add some level of humanity during a rough time for all involved. Awesome song tho..

The Christmas Miracle. Both British and German troops had to be replaced because they wouldn't fight each other after spending Christmas Together in WWI. They weren't enemies actually in the first place. They were Christians Celebrating the Birth of their Saviour. The Germans started decorating then the British followed then in time exchanging gifts and fellowshiped together. During the American Civil War during the night at some battles the South and the North met in a neutral area and exchanged letters, Newspapers and coffee and Tobacco. Also at Fredericksburg, Cold Harbor and Kennasaw Mountain the Confederates helped bury the Union Dead. When they did that it seemed they were lost best friends. The Rich always cause the poor to fight their brothers.

Einsatzgruppen could not have functioned without the full support of the German military. 90% of German units took part in imprisonment, enslaving or destruction of unarmed civilians in other neighbouring countries or Russia during WW2. German civilian death’s were a direct consequence of the Wehrmacht’s actions in attempting to rule Europe. These are fact’s, not an opinion.

Lessons: War is when we must set aside our humanity in order to survive. After the war, our humanity can return. Bleeding hearts.... bleed out. I don't like it either, but that's how it is. Best thing to do... defy war. Remember that famous question.... "What if they gave a war, and nobody came?" THAT would be the best answer. Until then, as both men and both families learned in this movie, "mercy" gets you killed.

They never used AK47s in WWII (as seen at the beginning of this movie). They were developed in 1947 by tank mechanic Mikhail Kalashnikov. And it does not really resemble a STG44 which was used by the Germans at the tail end of the war. Therefor I'll pass on this movie.

The Battle of the Bulge (16 December 1944 - 25 January 1945) was a major German offensive campaign launched through the densely forested Ardennes region of Wallonia in Belgium, France, and Luxembourg on the Western Front toward the end of World War II in Europe. The surprise attack caught the Allied forces completely off guard. United States forces bore the brunt of the attack and incurred their highest casualties for any operation during the war. The battle also severely depleted Germany's armored forces on the western front, and Germany was largely unable to replace them. German personnel, and later Luftwaffe aircraft (in the concluding stages of the engagement), also sustained heavy losses. German counterattack[edit] Main articles: Operation Bodenplatte and Operation Nordwind Destroyed P-47s at Y-34 Metz-Frescaty airfield, destroyed during Operation Bodenplatte On 1 January, in an attempt to keep the offensive going, the Germans launched two new operations. At 09:15, the Luftwaffe launched Unternehmen Bodenplatte (Operation Baseplate, literally Operation Floor Panel), a major campaign against Allied airfields in the Low Countries, which are nowadays called the Benelux States. Hundreds of planes attacked Allied airfields, destroying or severely damaging some 465 aircraft. However, the Luftwaffe lost 277 planes, 62 to Allied fighters and 172 mostly because of an unexpectedly high number of Allied flak guns, set up to protect against German V-1 flying bomb/missile attacks and using proximity fused shells, but also by friendly fire from the German flak guns that were uninformed of the pending large-scale German air operation. The Germans suffered heavy losses at an airfield named Y-29, losing 24 of their own planes while downing only one American plane. While the Allies recovered from their losses in just days, the operation left the Luftwaffe weak and ineffective for the remainder of the war.[98] On the same day, German Army Group G (Heeresgruppe G) and Army Group Upper Rhine (Heeresgruppe Oberrhein) launched a major offensive against the thinly stretched, 110 kilometres (70 mi) line of the Seventh U.S. Army. This offensive, known as Unternehmen Nordwind (Operation North Wind), was the last major German offensive of the war on the Western Front. The weakened Seventh Army had, at Eisenhower's orders, sent troops, equipment, and supplies north to reinforce the American armies in the Ardennes, and the offensive left it in dire straits. By 15 January, Seventh Army's VI Corps was fighting on three sides in Alsace. With casualties mounting, and running short on replacements, tanks, ammunition, and supplies, Seventh Army was forced to withdraw to defensive positions on the south bank of the Moder River on 21 January. The German offensive drew to a close on 25 January. In the bitter, desperate fighting of Operation Nordwind, VI Corps, which had borne the brunt of the fighting, suffered a total of 14,716 casualties. The total for Seventh Army for January was 11,609.[20] Total casualties included at least 9,000 wounded.[99] First, Third and Seventh Armies suffered a total of 17,000 hospitalized from the cold.[20][h]

Pardon me. You are correct. I researched it and sounds logical enough. The use of air support is never highlighted in MOST accounts of the battle or is usually vastly over shadowed by the Germans use of tanks. My apologies. I did however thoroughly enjoy your video. I do not identify the rifle carried by the German as any Mauser I ever saw, it must have been chopped on here in America, or in France, but no German infantryman carried such a bastardised weapon, unless in extreme emergency, and as there were twenty million standard K-98's in service the odds that the Kraut would be carrying one like that are slim and none. An infantryman never fired at aircraft, that's a waste of ammo, a thing very highly prized by a grunt.

using an ak-47 in ww2 ? not even the fact that it was firstly produced in 1947 but also the fact that assumably a german soldier holds an ak-47 made me laugh in the first Minute of the film and then the fact that an american soldier tries to shoot at a ''Bomber''(that has more similarities with with a modern day civil aircraft than any bomber of ww2 ! ) a Thompson /and btw this plane doesnt even look like a german one ! sorry to say that but before you make a short film about ww2 please, just please do a Little bit Research of the historical side and then you can write and record your Story /btw i liked the Story but i disliked the historical aspect. have a nice day :D
