Very helpful information. Thank you. Your outline is a good list to jog our memories. I like the details about the different thicknesses and qualities of paint. Also like your demos.

Blending is so easy on the little canvases. So much harder on the big canvas

Blending can be more challenging on larger canvases. I've found that it helps to use larger brushes. I don't know if you've seen this video, but I painted a larger mountain landscape with Golden Open acrylics and the blending was made easier by using larger brushes. I added Golden open thinner whenever I felt as though the paint was starting to dry. The largest brush that I used on the sky was the "Blick Mega Golden Taklon" which I list in the description of that video. 😀kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqG9Z2StmpJqnLc

This was more helpful than most blending demonstrations. I came here specifically looking for help with Opens. Unfortunately there isn't much out there on these paints. I'd really like to see a demonstration of re-opening sticky or drying Open paint for further blending using Open medium, as described by Golden. So far, it hasn't worked for me.

TY for sharing these techniques. They are all worth trying, but, I must say how the "watercolor" technique isn't my favorite.

Oh jeeze. I was just trying to blend two colors into each other without making any other transition shades. And I wondered why it wasnt smooth..
@ChrisBreier4 жыл бұрын
You can do that, you just have to find a way to prevent the paint from drying out as you blend- add retarder, mist it with water, or paint in thicker layers.
