I have been on Avid since I bought an Avid Xpress in 95 I believe. Install disk label was written in sharpie! Have avoided this tool but am now forced to use it. Been complaining about the old tool for years. Now I miss it. Just wasted so much time trying to get this tool to do the simple things I want it to. Sequence exported to After Effects.... Avid are you listening... we have three licenses and as the manager of the facility I am coming under more and more pressure to switch 100% to Premiere. Many of our projects are now done with Adobe. We will need to keep one license to revise legacy projects. I have earned a living with Avid for 25 years. For that I thank you.

The Avid Titler+ on 2020.04 worked the first time I opened it but hasn't worked since. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'd prefer to use the old Avid Title Tool, which seems to have been removed entirely from this version of Avid. Come on dudes, I'm paying for this.

I just did a practice project on 2020.6. Title Tool is there and works, however when I save the title it adds a fade the entire length of the title clip (transparent at beginning, opaque at end). Umm, what?? If I edit the title into my sequence, then edit the title and resave it, it's fine. Very bizarre. I've been using Avid since '99 and have never seen that issue before.

Bumping this comment. I'm testing Avid 2020.5 right now and it's a truly frustrating experience. It looks new and fresh, but basic things like changing colors feels way more confusing than ever.

Every time I tried grouping layers I lost color formatting. You can center text within the bounding box but try centering the text on part of the screen without distorting the text. Couldn't find leading either. Why is this so difficult?

Sweet lower third titles. For your next trick, you should make a frame of black and insert edit into the sequence. Avid really went out of their way to mess up the title tool.

Is it possible to name the titles so that it doesn't just say "Filler" on the video track? Just saying "filler" doesn't help me in some cases. In the old Title Tool, I could name it and see what it was called easily. To lose that ability seems like a step backward.

What I really miss here is to justify the title in the middle of the frame. I would love to have it not hidden the settings, but be available as a single click. As I do offline editing only, I usully don't need any fancy options, but just to add simple title and put in the middle of the frame (both vertically and horizontally). Besides, Titler+ looks better than previous tools (how many of them was there...). And what is that show you use as an example? Interested to watch it:)

I am trying to use Titler + and it does not work like the video. I followed the guide step by step. The first box was so small I could not see the font, the second box the font was massive and stretched, even though the Titler tool box said the fonts were identical. I feel I am missing something. Is there some box to click before starting on this ? I've been using Avid for over twenty years and this does not work. I am sure this doesn't make much sense but then again what I am seeing doesn't make any sense.

I worked in a 4K project and wanted to create a rolling title with that tool. I chose a font and clicked on "roll". Everything seemed to work: The final credits rolled into the frame. But then I noticed, that the credits did not roll out of frame - they stopped in the middle and stayed there. Until now I didn't find a way to let titles roll out of frame with this tool. I'm perplexed

Back here again, just to get some steam off, because this does not work. My workaround is to copy the stuff I have to write from a document and paste it into titler+ because if I would write them in avid, I would retire before the words appear on screen. Its just so frustrating.

How do you save the title? I couldn't see how he did it because his mouse action was above my screen. I also can't make the title go where I want it to even though I applied in and out points. Avid doesn't listen to me.

Full of bugs. Avid should be ashamed of themselves. In no way is this an improvement of the title tool of old. It's actually quite a downgrade. I have lost so many precious work hours trying to find work arounds for all the various inconsistency's of this tool. The fact that they have not addressed the Avid Titler+ issue after several months is concerning. Whats going on with this company?

Every time I add a transition to have the title fade up or fade out, Avid crashes. It doesn't matter which version of Avid I'm running - I've tested all of the updates from the last 6 months. I'm running avid on a Mac Studio with an M2 Max chip. Please help

Why does my bounding box grow every time I touch or change anything in my title? It grows so much that eventually the top is off the screen. Literally every click in the title grows the box. When I grab the top (if it hasn't already left the top of the screen), and bring it back down to its original size, the title I was looking at is way down at the bottom of some imaginary box and is invisible to me. My title disappears. YOU HAVE MADE AN UNUSABLE TOOL, which makes it nearly impossible to keep using your software. (I am on a 2019 iMac, running Mac OS Big Sur (11.3.1) on Avid version 2021.6.0). And you took away my ability to use the legacy Title Tool. So disappointing. :(

Experiencing frustration using this tool as it is not aware of the frame itself. A large block of text remains on a single line and goes a mile off screen. Astonishingly, grabbing the text borders WARP the text instead of resizing the text and formatting itself!! My question- do I actually have to hit return for each new line as 2020.9.0 seems unaware I might want to keep my paragraph on screen?? 🤬 Counterintuitive!

How do you set parameters of a text box so that as you’re entering a large amount of text, it doesn’t just keep typing off screen forever? I’ve been trying to add paragraphs of text and have to manually hit “enter” to break the lines of text up and it’s actually driving me insane

This is great and all but.... something the tutorial misses his how to edit an effect AFTER you've placed it initially. I can't find a way to automatically open the Titler to make revisions. Would be nice to just double click the clip in the timeline or bin to open the titler and make changes. As of now the only way i can find is rick clicking the clip in the timeline and selecting "edit title." Not a big deal but tedious when you have to do this over and o ver and over and over.....

How on earth are you selecting the outer bounding box of objects to move them around? You say "just click to select either of the bounding boxes". Hmm, well no... When I do that it does select them but I cannot move the object, it will only scale up or scale down the outer bounding box, it will not move it. I can ONLY move the object with arrow keys which takes an eternity. This tool is a NIGHTMARE.

At best Titler+ simply doesn't work. At worst, it constantly crashes your system. I've used it at 3 different companies, on completely different projects and systems, on both PC and Apple and it never works right.

I can not believe I am still using Avid. The new UI is ridiculus. The new Title Tool is even more a joke. Avid - you can't do this to your community. 6 years editing with your software, but I can't stand it anymore. How do you work that out? "Hey, let's do a new title tool and delete the other." 4k my ass. AS IF its not possible to adjust the old one - But maybe even you thought that the old one was crap too. The old title tool was a 32 bit application. Mac Catalina does not run 32 bit applications anymore, thats why it was removed. The new avid 2020.12 update has some cool new titler+ features.

I rely and depend on a software which should alway be consitent and not a variable in my workflow. I don't have a problem with releasing new features, I have a problem with releasing new features which are not ready for use. And I count the titler+ to that. I had to work a lot with it, in some ways I like it more than the title tool, but often enough I experienced such a frustration I just coudn't handle it anymore and wrote that comment up there. We talk about *titles* here. Not about an astonishing new feature. Just titles. And to be honest: everything is possible in programming, if catalina doesn't run 64bit, make the title tool 64bit. Could this be a lot of work? possibly. Did I spend a lot of money for a reliable editing software? Yes. And thats what it is all about. Trust, reliability and money.

Why doesn't Avid Titler+ work with any effects? Literally not a single Boris effect can be applied to any Titler+ clip. To add insult to injury, 4K 60 Projects will not allow the use of the legacy titler to work around this bug. Just bugs galore Avid, bugs galore. Nearly 2021 now and we're waiting.

Truly dreadful. Not fit for purpose. This tool continues to frustrate as does the 're-imagined' MC interface. Hung on to the 2018 software as long as possible but needed a new Mac so got stuck with this pile of junk. I've been using Avid since the early 90's and this is an all time low!!

The old Title Tool, with all of it's limitations, was stable, dependable and all I need 99% of the time, anything else goes to a real graphics program like After Effects or Photoshop, and that is exactly where I am going right now.

It does not want to recreate title media. So many bad things with this version. Prefer the previous one. The more they fix the worse it gets.Thinking of changing programs. Cannot get rid off black covering my desktop.Prefered old symbols, they were clear. Project window was clear, Bib was clear. Now it's a mishmash.Even selection tool is awful selects below instead of the actual piece.Moving forward and back has also changed for the worse. It should have a button revert to classic style like the Avid was before. I cannot check if titler writes in cyrillic. Could not before. To correct a mistake in Ukrainian I had to rewrite everything. A lot of lost time. It used to work in version 4... then it never worked again. I hate this new version!

I click the T+ button and two windows pop up. The mini-menu and the Avid Titler + window. I click 'T' on the mini menu, then my record window and....nothing. No text box no nothing. I just want to create a simple slate. If I manage to get a title on there, one wrong click on the bounding box and suddenly I'm stretching the letters, not growing the box. How can this be made easier Avid? Am I missing some settings some where?
