Titler+ is a disgrace. I love Media Composer, but the person responsible for Titler+ should be fire. It's slow, buggy, crashes all the time. And I have to user Media Composer in many many machines, so that's not something related to my system.

I am stunned that AVID would ship such a raging POS! The old title tool was primitive, but at least it was easy to use. It's on object lesson onhow to take something mediocre and improve it to the point where it is completely unusable. I now have no title tool at all. Unbelievable. I'm switching to Premiere.

Something that used to be easy like editing a "simple" end credit on an existing title is now impossible and this tutorial is 100 not helpful. I get an error message when I check "edit title" on the new title tool and when I try to do it by recreating title media it's a disaster and doesn't save as a new title. I'm not a pro editor but I've edited on every platform since Avid came out in 1995 and this is awful. As a director/producer, I would say "let's do it in Premiere" and that makes me sad.

I came here in the hopes that maybe watching this video would make me realize I was overcomplicating a simple thing...that this new title tool was actually intuitive. As soon as I press comment on this, I'm throwing my computer out the window. I'd rather do that than try to subtitle the phone call in this episode I'm working on.

How do you set parameters of a text box so that as you’re entering a large amount of text it doesn’t just keep typing off screen forever? I’ve been trying to add paragraphs of text and have to manually hit “enter” to break the lines of text up and it’s actually driving me insane

does anyone know how to animate these fabulous new titles? simply trying to do an 8 frame move from off screen to LW3 position but it keeps moving the video on V1 with it. I have tried stepping in and applying 3d warp but it does nothing; and there is no "promote to 3d" when turning on effect editor from the title. Thanks in advance

Its not letting me center it in frame for some reason, and whenever I click the move mode it automatically goes back to title mode. As well as when i click outside the selection it defaults to nothing and doesn't let me use move mode.

I had to update my MC software for a job I’m on, now I’m finally almost done with the project and have to add lower thirds. Only thing is, every time I try to build one using Avid Titler +, it crashes my system. Now I’ll miss my deadline. I’ve heard so many negative things about the current version of MC AND Avid Titler, but I thought if I bit the bullet and learned it, all would be well. Well…it isn’t. Premier Pro, I might just come knocking sometime soon.

The current Titler+ tool is absolutely shocking! I would say it's virtually unusable in a professional environment. Not creating title media is a backward step and the interface is woeful. Titles won't even run properly over picture unless rendered and this is on an M1 Max Mac with 64GB of RAM. Avid should bite the bullet and restore a classic style title tool that will work in the new software. If its not broken please don't fix it and if you do have to fix it, please do better than this!!

AVID Media Composer became a piece of crap. I've been working on AVID for 30 years and anything beyond 2018 version is an unusable nonsense. Astonishingly poorly implemented GUI. Absolutely fcked up software. My productivity fell below 20%. I am not working anymore. I am trying to dodge fcked up functionality and ever-present bugs... Working with AVID became a torture...

Okay, great explanation EXCEPT how do you drag and drop your new title into the bin, how do you get it into the timeline if you cant get it into the bin (tried drag and drop to no avail).. for the life of me I've watched this video and others where the explanation is so exact except for the point where you save it and drag and drop it into a bin and then open that bin and then add the title...I'm sure I will figure it out...!

Is it possible to see your titler + on a preview monitor? I can't seem to just put it on a sequence on its own just to look at it. It must have footage underneath. So lame.

Thank you for the tutorial. I've notice if I wanted to make changes on an existing title, the mini menu doesn't come up again .Do you know why that is?

Same question. My MC crashed before I can modify, let alone build a title, but I noticed that once the “little menu” disappears, it actually disappears. Maybe Avid wants to file for bankruptcy, I mean, why else alienate your users on such a grand scale?

Just go back on it and click the text icon you get then select the move button to move it/ edit it

GARBAGE!! On my system, half of the time when I try this app, it hangs Avid and I have no choice but to shut it down and restart it. I'm on 2022.12 and it is exceptionally unstable and worthless. It does this with several other effects. Also, when it (titler +) does work, and I can type something, it types BLANKS . No letters or numbers on the screen, just empty spaces. As it turns out, the only fix this inanity is to move the track up or down. Turning off tracks does NOT work, changing what is visible or not does not work. Shame on you Avid!

The Titler+ tool is absolutely the worst piece of garbage. It NEVER works properly. I've spent 2 hours trying to get a simple text to move left to right over 10 frames. IMPOSSIBLE.

WORST update and upgrade EVER.. nothing like changing things that worked... nothing like making one of the best tools MORE LIKE premier than ever... This is a really poor and sad day when Avid... leader of the whole NLE world... is trying more and more to look like one of the worst NLE's to call itself professional.

I absolutely HATE Avid. After half an hour messing around with this shitty piece of software, I now have to watch AN TUTORIAL !!!! For a TITELER!!!! Rediculous! I did the exakt same thing a few days ago. Premiere Pro now has a new titeler. The old one is gone, I had to switch to Essential Graphics. Don't like it that much, but it took me 2 Minutes to figure it out, how to do what I wanted to do. Avid is such a mess. You could hire programmers on fiverr, and they would do a better job. Can't wait for the day, when Avid is gone.

Using this for film class. In my honest opinion this editing software is SHIT. Why is this software so complicated??? I get that it's "professional" but why is it like this? It's pretentious. Even capcut is much easier at adding text.
