FOR ANYONE USING A MOUSE/LAPTOP MOUSE PAD, OR HAVING TROUBLE BLENDING DESPITE PRESSURE SENSITIVITY: 1. Lower the opacity much further than she says. I did most of this in the 10-30/40 range, often going over my strokes a few times with different colors to build and blend. Never above 40 unless I wanted the harsh lines (like the yellow near the start.) 2. The Thick Brush (Sumi Ink) needs its random displacement at 100%, not 34. It also needs a much lower opacity than 100%, more like 10-20%, or else it just looks like a textured blob. (This is more for mouse/laptop pad users. I'm sure if you use a pressure sensitive stylus it'd be fine.) 3. Work in smaller increments. 4. In the top bar of Medibang Paint Pro, you should have something labeled "correction" when you're in the Brush tool. Put it on 5-10 or so. It will sort of slow down the brush, and make it a lot steadier if your lines and strokes are a bit choppy. (This also works for stylus users if you have a shaky hand.) 5. USE THE EYEDROPPER TOOL. I know she stresses this in the video, and she is correct. You need the colors it will pick up, mostly with the watercolors. 6. This is more subjective to my taste, but it might help someone. When making the galaxy with the Thick Brush, lay down your colors like she says, then use a dark color, like the navy blue of the background, drop the opacity to around 5-10% and go around and in between the brighter colors. Just a very light trace, but it gives it more dimension (in my opinion.) 7. Try using the Thick Brush on low opacity on top of the orange, light purple and pink colors of the twilight part. It brightens up colors that Watercolors tend to turn dull or muddy. 8. Don't be afraid of the blur tool. I find this to be a HIGHLY unused and underrated tool cross pretty much ALL painting programs. People use smudge or blenders, often overlooking this convenience that requires little tinkering of its settings to get the job done. Got a hard edge? Grab the blur tool, blend out those pesky edges in a flash! Colors not blending right? Boom. Colors too harsh/bright? Blendy blendy. Jagged lines that should be soft? It got you boo. Hope this helps!

omg this is awesome. I will definitely use this on a drawing I want to do. But what if you want to do a full on galaxy background? So it would be like you were just looking up in the sky and you saw the galaxy. Would I use the same technique just put the colors I want in other places?
@tearstoneactual97735 жыл бұрын
Okay there's a detail or two you left out I think might be critical. - When you're talking about opacity settings - Do you have it set to "Opacity by pressure", or are you just setting it to 62% (or whatever percentage) with no relation to pressure? What are the canvas sizes and resolution/DPI you're using?

Really late to answer but... Try lowering the opacity more than hers. Also try double clicking on the brush and in the presets, activate the "soft edges" box. (For Watercolors.) I couldn't get mine to blend half as well either, mostly because I use a laptop trackpad, but it was a lot better once I did this.
