This was the first helpful video about the pay I’ve seen so far 🙌🏽 everyone hides around the bushes
@rachelchilde68043 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this video as it was very helpful. I am just finishing up my prerequisites prior to beginning a CMA program at a junior college in August. I was confused and unsure if I should devote the time to the CMA program or continue being an administrative assistant but perhaps put a bit of a spin on it and get into medical billing and coding. I think being a CMA would be really fun and interesting for me-not too concerned about the pay, I mostly want to be happy at what I do. I live in California and there is a huge demand for CMA's which means job security. I am 59 years old and need to do something fast. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so surprised by that wage especially for NYC with the cost of living. I live in the midwest and most places start at 16 - 18 dollars an hour, with experience definitely closer to 20. I'm a phlebotomist and I make 19.25 an hour & if I get my CMA I'd definitely make more.

The low pay rate offer is not gonna’ stop until the recent graduates (MA, NA, CN, etc,) stop accepting these low paying $16-$17 starting pay rate, that things are gonna’ change! These abusers...the hospitals, clinics, etc, get away with it for that reason! Because these new professionals, accept that low insulting pay rate. I am a CMA and I have refused many job offers with that low pay rate. If this insult keeps happening, I will end up working at a Starbucks or at another place that without a degree you can make $19 to $21 an hour right from the beginning. One last thing. I definitely do not agree with the instructors who tell you to go ahead and take that low insulting pay rate and when you get experience then ask for a $17 or $18 pay raise. That is just stupid, and ridiculous, and it should not be encouraged by any of these schools!!!

It depends on if you want to be a PA working as a MA would be beneficial. If you want to be a Nurse working as a CNA and a CMA is beneficial.
