Hi, you will receive the file from the NIIED instead of the university. So, I suggest you to wait until your name is listed to the final list candidate.

Hi, actually no. I kept the test result in Polish version. But the form that has to be written by the doctor shall be in English/Korean.

I passed the 2nd round . That was stated in the email and he will asked for additional docs. I just wanna asked did the doctor just asked u about all those stuff under clinical evaluation? No further examination etc? Im quite surprised that they asked so many things

Hi, congratulations for making it to the second round! I am so glad to hear that :) Well for the clinical evaluation, some questions were examined further, such as the rectum and genitalia as the doctor left it blank until she saw the lab result. But for some, she just asked questions. Fyi, you will do the exact same medical examination again once you arrived in Korea.

@@zonazuma6761 thank you. I'm just a little worried coz the medical examination here in my only covers the stool, urine, xray, blood test, and drug test. I still can't decide if I'll go to my family doctor about the rest of evaluation or do it with the doctor in the hospital since most doctors in the hospitals are busy.

@@gracekelly7130 Well, if you have family doctor, that would be great. They can get some other professionals on hand as well if needed. I mean, I went to hospital and the process took me 2 weeks. If you have time, I guess both cases will be fine.

Hi! Im gonna apply this year, but i dont know if in the initial form i should say that I'm being medicated for depression or not, since Korea is known to be "unfriendly" towards mental health problems. Its expected to stop taking medication this year, since I've been doing so much better and my doctor and therapist both say I'm "in a good place" and are very optimistic that i can remain like this even if i go aboard. My only concern is, if i dont disclose it in the form, and later they find out somehow, I'm gonna be disqualified, or if not, if i cant get access to the medication while living there

hi, I suggest to be really honest on your application. They may consider that but as the scoring system are based on many documents, it won't be problem if the rest of the documents you provide are outstanding.

Hi, I would say 75%-90%, depends on the quota given to your country. As the niied will rank all the candidates and they will select according to the number of seats. I wish you good luck!

It was filled by the optician, so you need no worry about that. Just give the form to the doctor and they will know what to do :)

Hi, are you talking about first stage or after second round? If first stage, I don't think you need to write anything. Once, you passed the second round, let the doctor or specialist fill out the form.

Umm..i am thinking of applying for gks in the future but i have asthma when i was a kid...though I am healthier than kids my age and i don't need inhaler also. I don't get asthma attacks. So can i apply?

Yes, I got chronic asthma and I put it on my application stating that I am on medication. Yet, I am currently staying here in Korea with GKS.

Hi, as long as the doctor gives positive feedback towards your medical check up and you are able to study abroad, it wont be that much problem I believe.

First step, you need to send self assessment of your medical situation. Then, once you got shortlisted as the candidate, they will ask you to go to hospital or professional clinics to get thorough medical examination.

Hi, as of my experience, NIIED will give you list of clinics or hospitals that they accept for your test to be done at.

Yes, as per my experience, we had to do medical check up again a week after arrival in Korea. However, it was 2020, so there might be some changes.

Hi, it depends on the assesment from the dentist, as he/she has to put the condition. I guess if its too bad, yes it can affect the scholarship result.

Once you are shortlisted to the candidate and being asked to provide medical examination, they will give you the due date to submit all the medical examinations. Mine was around May.

Hi, according to my experience, it does not necessarily to be at the same hospital. I did in three 3 hospitals and 1 clinic, however, I recommend you to make sure again in case the regulation has been updated.

I am an English graduate but I don't have any English proficiency test results will I be still able to apply and do I need to provide that my study medium in UG was English since I studied English??? Hi Alicia, My recommendation is apply once you feel ready both mentally and financially. Because rejection might hurts, especially after spending a lot for document legalization and delivery. You can prepare better once you ready. As for the important documents required, you can check my playlist 'Global Korea Scholarship'. I have talked about that indeed. The language proficiency certificate is additional document but has huge benefit if you have that. If you are not from US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand you are not considered as native English. I did my master in English as well, yet I still submitted the proficiency certificate. I am not sure how your GPA works, because I used the GPA on 5.0 scale system. You can check the guidelines to convert your CGPA. They also give the minimum requirement, for example 2.56/4.0. You can check Yonsei University. Yes, Korea provides other scholarship, i.e the professor scholarship. Hope it helps. Good luck!

Wow so the medical examination consists of only these four; 1. Personal information 2. Physical examination 3. Chest Xray examination 4. Laboratory examination. I will like to ask that incase the results is let’s say fair or poor, does that mean you won’t be selected?

Yes, those were the medical result I was required to submit at that the time I applied. As per the result, I think it's the matter of your doctor's point of view. If they say you will not be able to go to Korea due to specific condition, it's basically your chance to be selected will surely be decreased by default. However, as long as your doctor said it's okay, what you need is to keep your hopes till the result time came. Good luck!
