I'm a current M4 in med school. Feel free to message me if you want advice on picking your school if you haven't done so already. Where you decide to go can make a huge difference in the long run depending on the residency you want to pursue.

Marco Mejia what was your GPA for undergrad? Can you please give me tips? I'm a freshman in college and I'm so scared
@Holdador7 жыл бұрын
Can't remember exactly, I think it was like a 3.85. You still have a really long way to go so just try to take things one step at a time. Also make sure you really look into things and be sure that medicine is what you want to do (it's definitely not for everyone). It's a very long road and if you are one of the lucky few that makes it into med school you'll notice that verrrrrry few people from your classes actually end up making it. Some people just don't cut it academically and others realize that it's a huge commitment they're not willing to make. The best thing you can do now is to get the highest grades you can and try to get involved with a research lab and hopefully get something published. I didn't really know what things to get involved with in undergrad and wish someone had told me sooner how important extracurriculars and research are for getting accepted. I didn't really start research until I was my third year of undergrad so don't stress too hard about that. Another thing that's super important is to get shadowing hours with physicians so that it shows admissions committees that you know what you're getting yourself into. Community service is also good, and even better if it's something your passionate about and can possibly attain a leadership position in. I know it's a lot of info, but if you take it one step at a time it's definitely doable over 4 years of college. Just gotta make a plan and follow through with it. Good luck!

Student debt sucks soooo much! I've heard physicians say this often. I know a young man who is in internal medicine residency. He wanted to do cardiology but won't because his med school debt is soo high he wants to start pying them off after his residency is over. Doctors do very well of course but if your options are between a school offering you a full ride and one that isn't, go with the full ride. Just my opinion of course
@andyland277 жыл бұрын
the one that fits better is the one where you won't have any debt afterwards! Congrats!

It's a new medical school, this is their first year and they are no accredited. So there is always a risk that if she picks this school, she might not get a valid MD degree.

Hi, I'm fairly sure that I am going to be doing premed starting in the fall this year, but I will be a sophomore in college cause I'm a freshman right now. I'm a business major, so it will be really hard to do business and premed and other programs I'm in. But I feel like I'm interested in both-less so business, but I'm just so so scared that I won't be able to handle it. Please help me!!! I would LOVE to be accepted to my dream med school in the future like you

Hey Sabrina, great video. Here's my situation. I feel like I am way in over my head as I have not done as much studying for the MCAT as I should and am taking the exam in May (1 months away YIKES). I watched one of your old videos and saw that you had a similar situation where you felt you could just take the exam and get a good score and was forced to start studying that summer for two months. My question is did you end up having to apply late to medical school? Did you submit your applications that summer and take the MCAT afterwards?. Was planning on just looking this up but would love to hear someones personal experience. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Inaugurating class at a new med school can't be a good thing; we all know how clinical trials might end and that metaphor applies to your life/career in terms of getting hired etc.. The full ride's really your compensation just like how trial patients have their transportation cost covered.
