Girllll. We have identical composite MCAT scores, and I was literally watching this video yesterday thinking, "Wow, that's awesome, but it'll never happen to me because I don't have ECs as good as hers and am not the best interviewer." Today, I got a call from the school where I was recently accepted saying I was getting a full scholarship. It's like coming across your video the day before was a sign. I have a 3.96 GPA, so we have almost identical stats. :D

Hey Sabrina, I just wanted to say congrats on getting into medical school! Your videos of preparing for school really helped me in high school and truly changed the way I think about learning. Right now, I am actually in college as a pre-med in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry. I would have never been the student I am today without your tips. I am thankful for your advise and for your continued dedication to help others!

My brother got a full ride scholarship to Johns Hopkins medical school. Congrats on yours. We're Romanian as well. My parents went back to school to get their degrees after they came to America. My dad was a mechanical engineer too and got another master's degree in civil engineering in the states. Funny how similar our family's lives are.

Yeah. The school is brand new and not accredited yet. So since you run the risk of graduating from a medical school that may not become accredited (which if they didn't would screw you), they're letting their first class of students attend for free as incentive. I had a friend also accepted to this school.

I don't know whether its because we are like the same age in the same levels of college, but I feel SO excited for you and your journey, having watched from the beginning I feel like somehow I've been through the highs and lows with you. Please keep making content when you can even though you will be incredibly busy, there is so much room on KZbin for educated people and demistifying the process of med school and grad school etc. I'm so weirdly proud of you and so excited for this next stage!

I think she meant that she got lucky because it was a new school so they were giving out full rides in order to get accreditation. It would've been difficult with those scores to get a full ride to an established and accredited medical schools. Her scores were great, but for medical school is not enough to get a full ride.

None of the Ivies give full scholarships. I don't know why this myth is continually perpetuated. They only give grants based on family income. If your family makes less than 60k you essentially go for free. Google it. It is a fact. My daughter goes to an Ivy so I know from personal experience. Again there are no full scholarships at any of the Ivies.

Is the Medical College Admissions Test harder than the United States Medical Licensing Exam?
@seapinkoyster7 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. But the two exams are about basically completely different topics. MCAT is about the basic sciences and critical thinking. MCAT is a just a baseline. USMLE is testing everything you ever learned in medical school, critical thinking, and clinical application. The good thing about USMLE is that most people pass it, meaning if you get a competitive enough MCAT to get into a medical school, chances are you will mass the USMLE, but that's not a guarantee that you will get a competitive USMLE score to match into your desired specialty. I will say that the USMLE subjects are much more interesting and fun compared to the MCAT though.
