May i ask how to investigate what infection could be causing it nore when is recurrent, consistent?
@MedicalCentric4 ай бұрын
Swollen occipital lymph nodes often indicate an infection in the scalp, neck, or ear region. To investigate, a doctor might perform a physical exam, review your medical history, and possibly order blood tests or imaging to identify the underlying cause. If the swelling is recurrent and persistent, further evaluation may be necessary to rule out chronic infections or other underlying conditions. It's important to consult with a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

@@MedicalCentric Thank you, it is the first time I get a real professional answer. I'm in Mexico and here the doctors don't investigate anything. I'm swollen in that same area left side. May I ask you in the USA where would be recommended to go to investigate this? Thank you , C M.

I have around 5 to 6 nodes swollen in my right neck.And increases if i drive. I got to know that this is a cause of infection or cancer. Im worried. Is this caused by stress and driving.

@MedicalCentricАй бұрын
@RamyaSriRomala I understand your concern-swollen lymph nodes can be alarming. They often indicate an infection, but they can also be associated with other issues. Stress and prolonged driving might contribute to discomfort or tension in your neck, but they aren't typically direct causes of swollen nodes. It’s crucial to consult a healthcare professional for a proper evaluation, as they can provide clarity on the underlying cause and necessary steps for treatment. Taking care of your health is a priority! 🌟

I have a painful node? In my neck but at least 2” down so not directly under my ear lobe like most are pictured. It hurts to touch and If I press on the opposite side of my neck I can feel pain thru the other side. Odd but it hurts and is annoying. I don’t have any symptoms or known infection. I stay tired from T1D so it’s hard to know what’s going on. Wondering if I should wait a couple of days or just go to the doctor.

@christylee9552 Given your Type 1 Diabetes and the persistent, painful node in your neck, it’s wise not to ignore these symptoms. While it could be something benign like a swollen lymph node or cyst, it's best to be cautious due to your underlying condition. I recommend visiting your doctor for a thorough evaluation as soon as possible to rule out any serious issues and ensure your well-being.

@ thank you for responding, and so quickly! Yes I will go today for them to look at me like I’m nuts and tell me it’s allergies 🙄 Im in KY and the healthcare providers here are nothing like where I’m from. It’s always an allergy related diagnosis. However, at my age if they say allergies I’ll be happy. Thank you again! New sub

@rejectedman YT won’t let me comment directly to you? Anyways I went and the doctor ordered a ultrasound and it is a lymph node. I took an antibiotic and the pain went away but not the node so he said to come back after a week if it’s still there and would refer to ENT. It’s still there so going back.

I have a cervical enlarged lymph nodes .... i was on a course of antibiotics but it didnt help . My neck feels weak, and like its strained . The largest one is right under my jaw . . They did a ct which showed no mass. Bloods showed high inflammation.. i thinks its 4 weeks now
@MedicalCentric3 ай бұрын
@eduekhaya8727 It sounds like you're going through a challenging and uncomfortable situation. Enlarged lymph nodes that haven't responded to antibiotics, especially with accompanying symptoms like weakness and a strained feeling in your neck, should be closely monitored. The fact that your CT scan showed no mass is reassuring, but the persistent inflammation and symptoms suggest that further evaluation might be necessary. It's important to follow up with your healthcare provider to explore additional tests or treatments that could address the underlying cause. Your health is important, and getting to the bottom of this issue will help you feel better.

Does it swell during poisoning?
@MedicalCentric3 ай бұрын
@GabrielSauls-c2v Swelling is not a common symptom of food poisoning, but it can occur in some cases, particularly if the body is reacting strongly to the toxins or if there is an allergic reaction involved. Food poisoning typically presents with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and sometimes fever. If you're experiencing swelling along with these symptoms, it could be indicative of a more severe reaction or a different underlying issue. If you have swelling, persistent symptoms, or other concerning signs, it's important to seek medical attention promptly for a thorough evaluation and appropriate treatment.

@chchchahahahah I'm really sorry to hear you're dealing with this. If your swelling has been persistent for three months despite normal results, it’s important to follow up with your healthcare provider for further investigation. Swelling can have many causes, including fluid retention, infections, or other underlying health conditions, so a more thorough examination may be needed. It might also help to consult a specialist like an ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor) or a dermatologist, depending on the area affected. Please don’t hesitate to seek additional advice to ensure you get the proper care. Take care, and I hope you feel better soon!

My left side of the neck has been swollen it has been two days.& i had cough too and doctor prescribed me some antibiotics & pain reliver but cough condition being extreme
@MedicalCentric15 күн бұрын
@SPRAYERGAMING-oz8qi A swollen neck, especially when accompanied by a cough, could indicate an infection such as a respiratory infection, throat infection, or swollen lymph nodes, which are often a sign that your body is fighting off an infection. The antibiotics your doctor prescribed might be aimed at bacterial infections, but it's important to note that antibiotics don't work for viral infections, like the common cold or flu. If your condition is not improving or your cough is getting worse, it’s important to follow up with your doctor. Sometimes, a severe cough may require additional treatments like a stronger medication or a cough suppressant if it's causing discomfort. The swelling in your neck could also be due to lymph nodes reacting to the infection. Here are a few things you can try in addition to your prescribed medications: 1. **Stay Hydrated**: Drink plenty of fluids to help thin mucus and soothe your throat. 2. **Warm Saltwater Gargle**: Gargling with warm salt water may help ease throat irritation. 3. **Steam Inhalation**: Inhaling steam can help clear mucus and relieve coughing. If your symptoms persist, worsen, or you develop other concerns such as fever, trouble breathing, or more swelling, please contact your doctor as soon as possible for further evaluation and care.
