Marvin, this is a great video, as all of your videos are without saying...LOL. I will turn 65 in a month and your videos were a key to my decision making for a plan that worked for me and my wife. Thank you. What came to mind after stumbling upon the concept of the potential of an HSA account was, my wife and I missed the boat. We were unaware of the benefits early on and now want to help engage young folks to realize what can be a part of their future savings plan and the tax advantages an HSA can be for their portfolio. Please consider a solid talk to the next generation.

This is probably a dumb question. If all supplmental Plan G's are "the same" then I'd expect everyone to ALWAYS purchase the lowest cost policy. This apparently does not occur. I'd like to understand the rationale for deciding otherwise. Thanks if you can educate me.

If you delay part D there's a penalty tacked onto each month's premium but they can't deny you coverage when you decide on taking part D.. is that right?

I am very glad that the KZbin algorithm sent me to “Medicare School”, very interesting content indeed! I have an unusual situation. I am an American and worked enough in the USA to qualify for Social Security retirement income as well as Medicare when I retire in my 60s (I am now 59). I moved to Canada when I was in my early 40s and now have dual citizenship and live in Canada. I get the “free” healthcare in Canada which has worked for me so far but the system in Canada does have significant problems. I might move back to the USA when I retire but wow is Medicare complicated! I am not sure what I am going to do yet but if anyone has some suggestions or tips I would like to hear them. Thanks!

I'm 55 and know things will probably change when i retire at 65 but decided to school myself ten years early lol. So if i understood correctly. 1)The year i turn 65 i need to make sure my job earnings is below $21,240 until i turn 67 and that limit goes away. 2)Three months before i retire at 65 contact contact S.S. and tell them i want to start Medicare A&B on the month of my 65th birthday. 3)Contact an insrance company like Cigna and purchase a supplemental plan G and plan D RX tell them i want to it to start on the month of my 65th birthday. My monthly SS retirement benefit estimate is around $2300 at 65, i have a pension plan from a previous employer around $700 a month at 65 and around $300,000 currently in IRA's. Do you have any suggestions for me?

The year you apply they go by the month that pay is earned - if you retire mid year it doesn’t matter how much you make before you retire - they will only count pay in the months after to retire - this is exactly the situation I was in when I retired in 2021

@@45SIG58 So if i retire in July i can make as much as i want January thru June?
@MedicareSchool Жыл бұрын

I’m 57 years old and retired from a city. I currently have Kaiser that the city pays for. I do plan on going to work for a large company in my retirement. Do I have to go on Medicare at 65 or will I lose my city medical coverage and go on to the new companies medical? We negotiated lifetime medical for retirees with the city so I don’t know how Medicare falls in at 65?

At your age bracket you prob should ck with Medicare/Social Security whether it's 65 or 67.

Medicare becomes Primary Insurance insurance/Primary Payor when you're retired. If you decide to work for a large company and are offered Group insurance that you take, you have the option to delay Medicare without penalty, it would be wise to compare the coverage to see which route would be more cost effective and overall better coverage. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYekfJKJqZiEidk If you need help getting your Medicare coverage set up correctly, feel free to give us a call at 800-864-8890 or schedule a free appointment here: www.medicareschool.com/talk-to-a-guide?rc
