I'm a Family Nurse Practioner…. I wish we could get a yearly update instead of getting 300 letters stating THIS year they will not cover “X medication” (which has a generic). They want me to prescribe a much more expensive alternative! Six months later they make me change everyone’s insulin AGAIN due to cost!

I have watched this channel off and on for a year, I am not arguing the facts. I finally bought medicare supplement effective 2024. WARNING to all: despite being surrounded by hospitals and medical centers, I can NOT find a doctor that will take a new medicare patient. Websites and phone trees all lead to dead ends. Most docs have 3 or 4 phone numbers to call, and there are about 400+ doctors in the list you need to 'call for availability'. Good Lord. Some say maybe in 2025 appointments will open up. What a nightmare. I'm just glad I am not sick. My advice: do NOT let go of what you have until/unless you have a new doctor WAITING for you!.

Yes, I found this out first-hand when my PCP retired just after I enrolled in Medicare. Most providers accept Medicare, but finding one who will accept a NEW Medicare patient can be a different story.

Pretty sure you have stated you are licensed in all 50 states. So I have 2 questions as I am 65 still working not collecting social security yet. First question is about "Attained Age Pricing" and "Community Pricing" How do you feel about that? And my other question would be more personal. I know you always talk about the team you trained, but how would one go about getting an appointment with the actual trainer for the peace of mind aspect when ready to apply for Medicare and that "G" Supplement plan which I am totally convinced is the best plan. Asking for a friend.

For your supplement choose plan N unless you live in NY or Florida than choose HDG. As for dental and vision just use cash. As long as you have no needs beyond once a year X-rays and twice a year cleanings it's cheaper to avoid insurance.

I will be 65 the end of September 2024. I was injured and retired at age 50 because of an injury. Just a regular retirement, not disability retirement, which it should have been. I worked for the County and did not pay into Social Security. According to Social Security, I only have 33 credits and need 40 for SS benefits. But I do have enough credits to qualify for Medicare at age 65. I live in California but plan on leaving. If I start Medicare here and move to another state, will the cost of a supplement plan change to the state I move to or will I have to continue to pay California price? Should I move out before I start Medicare?

In most States, you will have to pass medical underwriting, even if you already have a Supplement but just want to switch to another. You could become trapped in a Supplement that has become unaffordable. Only realistic options if you can't pass underwriting, are to just pay the increasing premiums, or switch to Advantage.

I also have an HSA that I will have to transition to a regular insurance plan 6 months before my retirement date. However the company continues to contribute to the HSA until I am fully unemployed with them. Will I incur tax penalties if I retire a week after 9.6.24 based on the employer contributions? Please advise. 😊

What happens to your medigap if you move out of the state you enrolled in
@MedicareSchool
@MedicareSchool 4 ай бұрын
your coverage generally remains intact. Medigap plans are portable, meaning they provide coverage regardless of where you live within the United States, as long as you continue to pay your premiums. When you move to a new state, you might want to review your coverage and explore if there are any better options available in your new location. @gracebe235
@gracebe235 6 ай бұрын
I hear ya. It was a fiasco trying to find a reasonable dental insurance online. I had it narrowed down to two different ones; Manhattan Life…..or Physicians Mutual. But then Manhattan Life changed their rates/coverage, so I went with Physicians Mutual. I chose their most expensive plan, (they have 3 or 4 different plans), but I chose their ‘Premiere’ dental coverage for $56.50 a month. It covers 2 dental cleanings a year for free, and covers basic and major dental at 70%. (But you have to wait a year before the coverage starts on major procedures…..YAY! I just had my year wait come to an end!). There are no deductibles, and there are no limits to the cost of care in a year. So if you had $5000.00 in dental that year, they cover the percent that is their part of that $5000.00, for whatever level of plan you chose. You could have $10,000.00 in dental…..and they will still cover (in my case) 70% of it. No yearly limits. Hope this helps. If someone knows of dental plan that is better at a better price, please, let us all know. But so far as I can tell, Physicians Mutual gives me the most for the money. They have cheaper priced plans too, but the coverage is less…..it covers a smaller percentage of the total bill. I wanted to have as much of the bill covered as possible, as things like crowns or root canals are pricey……and paying 30% of those is still a lot! But better than nothing. Their plan covers dentures too.

How far in advance do I need to stop contributing to my HSA when I plan to go on Medicare Part A? I've heard 6 months before I "APPLY" which is 2-3 months before I want Medicare to become effective, or is it 6 months before Medicare becomes effective? That would be a difference of 2-3 months more that I can contribute to my HSA before I need to stop. Thank you!
@MedicareSchool
@MedicareSchool 4 ай бұрын
You typically need to stop contributing to your Health Savings Account (HSA) six months before your Medicare Part A coverage begins. This means you should cease contributions around two to three months before you want your Medicare coverage to become effective. @@MedicareSchool Please excuse my confusion with your response. What is the difference between stop contributing to my HSA "6 months before Part A coverage begins" and I should cease contributions "around 2 to 3 months before I want Medicare coverage to become effective"? Aren't they one in the same? So if I want Part A, B, and Medigap coverage to begin on 4/1/25, do I stop contributing in October of 2023 or January 2024? Thank you for clarifying this for me.

Most Supplements are national and will travel with you to a new state. The rate may change, due to the fact you are in a new population. If your plan doesn't exist in the new location, you'll have to get a new one, and you may not have guaranteed issue then.

You're going to have to talk to KZbin about that. The creators don't really have any say in that. You could always do what I do and subscribe to KZbin Premium. Once you do you'll get zero ads on anything and access to the entire KZbin music service. It used to be a really great deal at $10 a month, but they recently raised that to $14. I can see where ads are positioned in videos, even though I can't see the ads. In this particular video, I don't see any slices in the timeline for ads. If you're talking about the points where the speaker stops and says, "If you're enjoying this content..." I think that's a really minor price to pay for the amount and quality of the information being provided.
