Experience is the best teacher. I'm 72, recovering alcoholic and take meds for depression and anxiety for over 30 years and may for the rest of my life. I am also a Christian who loves the Lord.

I love the believers' new identity in Christ. He brings order to what we have labeled as disordered. Our behaviour is a choice. Spiritual warfare absolutely is a battle for truth in the mind. Our minds were made to glorify God, not ourselves. Are you thinking well, renewing your mind 24/7 in God's Word? It's the BEST medicine.

I have bipolar disorder and meet with my therapist once a week and meet my psychiatrist once a month and take medications and also work on being mindful. It’s been a ride definitely but God is my number one source and then my family’s support and help ❤

If I may direct you to a book that is really helpful that is called, "A Profession Without Reason: The Crisis of Contemporary Psychiatry" by Bruce Levine. It is one of the best books that can explain these disorders that you struggle with. My prayer is that not only is Jesus your number one but that He would be your only one. He is sufficient. Staying connected to the body of Christ and seeking biblical counseling that could speak truth to these struggles.

Are you kidding me? Proverbs 23 does NOT say "as a man thinks within himself so is he". Kris Valloton quoting this verse like that in "The Supernatural Ways Of Royalty" is the reason that I quit taking ADHD meds and almost failed out of college. It says "For as HE thinks", And when you look at the context, it's about a guy who is so focused on losing his money. He is anxious to even share with someone he treats as a guest. This is not about your thoughts or changing the way you think. Nor can someone link one's thoughts to the outcome of their life.

It is important that we do not deny the real physiological/biological causes of our thoughts and behaviors. Render unto Newton what is Newton's. However, "Christian" counseling often delves into things are neither Christian or science. The way Christian leaders and workers absolutely love Myers-Briggs is puzzling to me. The personality test is considered weak by clinicians these days, but Christians like to mention their 4-letter code as if it was biological hardwiring. Then there is the use of Enneagram by people calling themselves Christian counselors, many of them pastors with ordination. We are fully into the occult with Enneagram.

thank you so much for this . I was in a relationship for 7 years and have memories that are horrible..he was a cross dresser and I was a baby Christian and didn't know the Bible ,ended up being drug I to this depraved lifestyle and finally was able to come back to my mother's and get away and back to God. now it has been 2 years but I still see images and memories of that life but it's becoming easier and easier the more I trust God and learn his word. your anxiety videos help me so much and I am excited to get the book in a few weeks. thank you

I was looking forward to the medication part. As someone who is in year three of recovery from a traumatic brain injury (actively in a state of psychosis for over 2 of those years) as a result of switching/weaning off antidepressants, I am here to testify that psychiatric medications are NEVER the answer. There is no safe way for some people to come off of these medications. While there is absolutely no shame in someone being on medication, people need to know how powerful and incredibly dangerous these medications are. I would like to say my situation is rare but I am a member of an online community that has over 35,000 registered members of people struggling with some form of discontinuation syndrome. Please look in to this before having a public discussion about medication. Blessings Brother

What you have experienced is sadly more common than people realize. There are natural substances that help like therapeutic grade essential oils which cross the blood brain barrier as well as CBD oil and getting on an anti inflammatory diet. God bless you for sharing this.

@@anchoraboveworship8404 Yes, MUCH more common than people realize. Especially milder forms of it which are dismissed as returning “mental illness”. Thus the never ending cycle of prescribing more or switching medications.

Discontinuation syndrome?
@awakeosleeper3930
@awakeosleeper3930 15 сағат бұрын
@@biancae1059 A syndrome that develops from a brain injury caused by discontinuing antidepressants. It is debilitating and can take years to recover from. The only safe way to get off of antidepressants is a hyperbolic taper over the course of years… Not days or weeks.

The story that played a key role for my mental health was when Jesus defended Mary after the dinner party was rebuking her for pouring the expensive perfume on Him. My whole life I had heard many people around me say the same thing: "What a wasteful act! What should have been done is ...." I know that others have their own convictions to pursue medical/professional help, and I will honor them, but my own personal conviction is that I possess a tendency to use medication to muzzle the Holy Spirit, to please others. But "if aim to please men, I am no servant of Christ" (Gal 1:10) And my own speculation, as God presses on my heart, is that in the *entirely speculative* scenario that if Mary had been medicated, she would have pleased others, and not have minded the Holy Spirit to the degree that would have compelled her to perform the beautiful act.

Your brain is physical. The brain can be seen or touched. The soul is composed of your mind will and emotions, not physically viewable or touchable.
