​@DanArnets1492 if you go to one of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra concerts at any time of the year, they will play the Blue Danube and Radetzky March as part of their encore - clapping included! Definitely worth going; the only hard decision you'll have is whether to see it in the wonderful Golden Hall in the Musikverein, or the incredible Staatsoper.

If anyone ever says the conductor is useless show them this video. He was able to, on the fly, non-verbally instruct the audience on how hard and when to clap and fit it in with the orchestra which he's also instructing.

Actually, that had started with Mehta two years before, and then now late Jansons followed that. Dudamel became the last to do this, as once Muti chose not to do that in 2018, the conductors since then also chose not to.

I watch the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's concerts every year for so, so long. Really long. I watched this live, as I do on every New Year's forenoon. And this was the best performance of the orchestra in years, and after that, nothing was comparable. Especially in this part of the Radecky march. So that you understand me, I do not mean how Mr. Dudamel gestures - although that is also completely unique and amazing to look at - but about the synergy with the orchestra itself and with the audience. Absolutely breathtaking.

New York, you will be privileged to receive a Maestro that comes along only once in a generation. We in Los Angeles already miss him. In my ears only three have reached the top of the Pyramid: Carlo Maria Giulini, whose career was cut short to take care of his ailing wife, Sir Gorg Solti and Gustavo Dudamel. Perfection

I'm in crisis because I I heard Redetzky when enjoyed opera by a great kid Kohnatan Adua & at the end there was but rendition by some orchestra genus THAT redesigned Redetzky so sweet 👍 The job of flutes was assigned to violins staccato, supreme Devine sound hunting my absolute musical hearing. I can't find it anymore and I should have saved...
