I literally wake up with a lighter heart knowing that you may have a video on any of the topic that has been kicking me. Kindly keep sharing your knowledge . One request though is to absolutely ignore the peabrains who whine about your voice or accent or whatever else that their insecure nitpicky anti social personalities want to water drip on. Why the Rouleaux formation? The incr. ESR is because Ab are proteins and thus (like RBC membranes) negatively charged? Also I don't quite get the amyloid part: Malignant plasma cells produce non-functional antibodies (Ab); antibodies consist out of heavy and light chains. If the light chains get into the urine they are called "Bence-Jones protein" (BJ); but the light chains can also transform into amyloid. So the difference between BJ and amyloid is that BJ lacks this transformation? However, they both damage the kidney? 26:46 You wanted to leave a link (type of fractures) in the description :D
@MedicosisPerfectionalis5 жыл бұрын

Regarding the amyloidosis...Let’s forget about amyloidosis for a second and talk about a toxin that damages the kidney (lead for example)...Lead will damage many organs including the kidney...Some lead will be excreted in urine and therefore detected in the lab (high urine lead level)...Now let’s remove lead and replace it with “amyloidosis” and let’s remove “urine lead level” and replace it with “Bence-Jones protein”...Make sense? 😉🤔💡

When we talked about B cell Lymphomas/Leukemias why the increased number of B Cell does not cause Inc. in Plasma cells. Is it Because they are immature cells?
@MedicosisPerfectionalis3 жыл бұрын
Yes! If you remember immunology, B-cells need to mature first (with the help of T-helper cells) in order to change to plasma cells and memory B cells. Good point 👍
