Another one that comes to mind is Knights of Honor.That one tried to combine the two,but the combination ended up being just lukewarm because they could not specialize enough in neither aspect. It isn't outright bad,but nothing to really write home about. Tough,in that game,once you become a superpower you practically get to play God. Which is kinda fun.

The first time I heard this was when I was attacking Jerusalem... my trebuchets were destroying their towers whilst the pre-battle music played, then I moved my enitre army forwards and this theme played. Was one of the most incredible things. So awesome.

I love Broken Crescent. That is an absolutely wonderful mod. Indeed. I am immensely proud of my Persian and Islamic background. One of my historical obsessions is the Persian Empire (the other ones being, the Ayyubids, Ottomans, and Holy Roman Empire/Prussia). The thing about the Ottoman Empire though is that for the first 400 years of its existence, it was quite an effective Empire, it was around the 1700s that they started to fail. The thing about the Rashidun is that they were very good at convincing people to not revolt. While not explicitly using massacres, they used the carrot and the stick to rule. They offered benefits to those that aided them and violent reprisals to those that opposed them.

His sacrifice was not in vain: the city was saved; the Saracen was driven away and slaughtered in great numbers.

well; im the total watr games, ranged cavalry will continually keep distance from enemy pursuers whereas melee cavalry willjust stand thre, melee cav i reservefor harder hitting strikes at an entirely different spot. and also one might mix up orders, to move both horse archers and lancers as a selected wole means that to attack enemies causes the lancers to charge, but the infantry defending the foot archers will chew upp the lancers as well. its mutually supporting units

Well, after the 1600s, the Ottoman Empire started to fall downhill. It was a noble attempt to salvage the Islamic Golden Age in the aftermath of our devastating War against the Mongols. What happened was the over-expansionism into Europe led to Sultans neglecting their own Empire and the fact that Ottoman sultans got increasingly more decadent and thus lacked the administrative experience of Suleiman the Magnificent and Mehmed II
