i miss the old system with no army cap.the mass of full stack armies gave us somehow a challenge, it was not easy to conquer or even to defend a region. in newer total war games the winner of the first battles wins always the war (except of total war kingdoms thanks to the coalition system).in previous games you or the A.I. had the chance to turn the luck of war because early wins or defeats meant nothing.remember defending against mongols or timurids

then please tell me whats the deal with this game, becuase to me it looks pretty unpolished and clunky. My biggest problem with it is the battle camera, it is so slow and gameplay unfriendly. I am sticking with Napoleon Total War and Shogun Total War 2

Hi all, I'm a fan of RTS games and I desperately need your help! I'm looking for an early 2000s (maybe late 1990s) RTS game but can't seem to find any trace of it nor can remember the name. To put it short, all I reckon is that you had (just like Age of Mythology) spells to cast (at least I think), you could build and upgrade buildings (for some reason I remember a shaolin temple, a mage "hut") and hoards of "beasts" that can attack you or rats too. I know it's a long shot but any help will be appreciated! NB: I literally did the whole RTS Wikipedia list without any luck (maybe I am blind)....

Try searching for Battle Realms maybe? Its the only RTS from that era that I remember having a Shaolin/Ninja setting. Quite a stylish and unique game too. Hope this helps.

@@zany-zen6173 Hi lad and thanks for the reply! Shaolin's are one of many units you can create from memory (I reckon a mage hut) and it wasn't centred around Japan. I'll keep on searching but Battle Realms looks cool!

Can someone help me? Is it normal not to be able to position the troops inside the castle? I say before I start the battle. Another thing my castle gate opens alone when the enemy tries to get in even if I go into control of the gate tower because it happens

It's because an enemy spy enters your castle before siege and opened the gate for the enemy army.

Usually it's ok if you keep him in the back of the front lines and out of any ranged unit's fire. They actually boost the morale of the army if they are near.
