Dude, you’re in the prime area and such an amazing history of early times!!! I’ve always wanted to travel the world and detect to find ancient coins! Oldest coin to date is a KG II Halfpenny. I would love to add something of Medieval date to my collection! I want to maybe detect with you some day! Sweet finds! Real jealous of all you detectorists “across the pond” where you can find the medieval and super old coins. The oldest coin I have so far is an absolute roasted 1650’s French Liard small copper coin. Thanks again for the subscription. 🙏🏻🤙

Thanks! I’m glad we have a history that goes back more than 2000 years in our region! But I also like to find newer finds, your coin from 1650 is almost four centuries old! I just found a stunning coin from 1653 from where my where I was born and live, it is my best 17th century copper coin. It wil be in my new video…. 😎👍🍀

How do you identify your finds when it's not obviously a coin or something easily identifiable?

Thanks! I have found most things, we have a rich medieval history here. I have books, internet and most importantly I have good contact with the state Archeologist and one of the best numismatics of our country. But like I said, I’ve found most things multiple times. So the identification part gets easier. And when I don’t know what it is, I know it’s something special, but that happens only once or twice each year. 😎👍🍀
